1967 cadillac eldorado for sale
1967 Cadillac Eldorado
Let’s start with an introduction. This is a 1967 CadillacEldorado, purchased new in 1967 by Zenon C.R. Hansen.
1967 was a year of firsts for the Eldorado. It was the firstyear that Eldorado took on a different body style than its counterparts in theCadillac lineup. Before 1967 the Eldorado was differentiated by trim options. Additionally, the Eldorado was the first ever front wheel drive vehicle offered by Cadillac; providingdriver and passengers alike with plenty of leg room. There is no shortage ofpower under the hood for this Eldorado. It features the 429 V8 (7.0 liter)engine and a 3-speed automatic transmission. Now, for those of you who are connoisseurs of Cadillacs, myfriends, I know what you are thinking, “This ain’t no ’67. It’s got to be a ’68with front fender corner signals.” Rest assured my astute compadre that it is indisputablya 1967 as indicated in the VIN number and dashboard. The dashboards were givena slight redesign for 1968. Why does it have front fender corner signals andtrim elements that were introduced in 1968? I don’t know. However, I like toimagine that the original owner, Mr. Hansen, liked some of those elements whenthe ‘68 came out, so he had his dealership in Pennsylvania install them on his ‘67.It’s possible.
Speaking of Mr. Zenon C.R. Hansen, he was the original ownerof this car, delivered to him on April 20, 1967. Mr. Hansen, at the time of thepurchase, was the CEO of Mack Trucks, Inc. He was elected to the AutomotiveHall of Fame in 1983 being accredited with turning the Mack Trucks companyaround.
THE GOOD:
The car starts without a problem and runs very smooth. Ithas 92,000 original miles on it. Last year I had the carburetor rebuilt. The airconditioning still blows cold. All the electric windows work and the headlightcovers are still in working order. The interior is in great shape; includingthe headliner, upholstery and dash. I have a few spare parts for the carincluding new sill plates. I have a copy of the build sheet that I obtainedfrom GM that I would be happy to share with the buyer as well. It has a Bluetooth stereo in the glovebox thatworks great and allows for hands free phone calls.
THE BAD:
It needs a new paint job, not horrible but there are spots wherethe paint has started to flake off. The car has been repainted sometime in thelast 25 years. The automatic locks don’t work, neither does the cruise control. There is no major damage to the body, but there is a dent on the trunk and adent on the front passenger fender that is hard to see on the photos. The heatis not working and a seam has come apart on the arm rest. Lastly, the powerseat is not working. I did purchase a new motor for the seat and installed it,but haven’t had a chance to trouble shoot why it isn’t working with a newmotor.
Overall this has been a really fun car, but I need to makeroom for something else. Would love to see it go to somebody that willappreciate it. Hagerty values this car at 23K, asking $21,000. Buyer to arrange for shipping. $1,000 deposit in the first 48 hours and full payment within 7 days.
