1950 Cadillac Series 61 Series 61

Cadillac Other. This 2 door coupe made its way to Illinois from Vegas. It has no body rust. Car was originally French Gray. The blue paint is not show quality, but looks good for a driver quality car. I just recently purchased the car and have been correcting some minor details. I ordered a new carpet set for the car. It's not here yet. I'm looking to have a headliner installed in the car as it has no headliner. Missing one piece of the rear upper door trim. The fuel pump is disconnected and running off a 6 volt electric fuel pump. The original oil bath air cleaner is intact and functioning on the original 2bbl carb. I've drove this car several hundred miles in the last two weeks. Brakes are excellent. Starts right up. Shifts well. Has a newer tailpipe and muffler installed, but could use some attention where the joined it to the old part of the forward exhaust. Dome light works as well as the dash lights when the door is opened. Turn signals work on dash and the high bean indicator does as well, but none of the dashlights illuminate, I believe it's in the headlight switch, it's on the list to address and I may have them working in the near future. Radio doesn't appear to work. Wiper switch is no good but vacuum wiper motor does operate if I turn them on under the hood. Clock runs intermittent. All of the gauges function but the gas gauge, which I believe the sender is not currently properly grounded. I put a new package tray liner in the car. The trunk has the original 1950 spare tire wide whitewall tire with the hubcap, complete jack and tire tool including the wooden wedge. The original trunk mat is in the car but the side panels are missing. The inside hood latch cable is broken, the outer cable housing is still intact and I have the pull handle. Glove box is intact and has some paperwork from Vegas still in there along with a reproduction 1950 Manual including the 1951 supplement. I just put 2 new mirrors on from McVey Cadillac. Has a locking tail lamp lock I've not seen before and key to access the gas filter. To be honest I'm not rushing to get rid of this one, but I still want a 1956 coupe. In the mean time, I'm gonna keep tinkering and enjoying this one. It's in great solid condition for a 72 year old vehicle.It's available for inspection and if you need help with delivery I can work with you for my cost as I have a nice enclosed 34' trailer and a new Ram truck that likes to travel within reason.
