1960 Cadillac Series 62

This auction is for a 1960 CadillacSeries 62 Convertible I bought roughly 10 years ago. The car is from Michigan, and the crazy story I've been told is it was owned by a blues musician turnedpimp, who would cruise Woodward Avenue. The over the top metallic fabric on theseats makes me think this might actually be true! This gentleman ended upincarcerated for his actions, and the car ended up falling into disrepair.

As you can see from the pictures, whenthe car is dark red, it was roughwhen I got it, but mostly complete.

I disassembled the entire car, downto the bare frame. Had everything soda blasted, as you can see in the photos ofbare metal and gray primer. Theframe was then powder-coated semi-gloss black, and new stainless fuel lineswere installed. All new floor pans and bracing replaced the old rusted panels, and other areas of rust and structure / support were all repaired.

The car is now in black primer / sealer. You can see itwas painted while the body was still off of the frame. Motor and transmissionare long gone, but everything else is there. Windows are broken, but chromepieces and tracks and regulators all come with the car, as do the front andrear seats, bumpers, trim, suspension, convertible top bows, etc.

According to the trim tag:

Style 60-6267 (1960 Series 62Convertible)

Paint 50 (Pompeian Red Metallic)

Trim 28 (Red and White Leather)

Body FW 11469

Top 1 (Ivory)

ACC EHY

My plan was to take what is arguablythe best looking of all Cadillacs (Yes, I like these better than 59's) and do amodern drivetrain and suspension, but keep the appearance basically stock. Ithas had countless hours of work done, and now the body is sitting on the frameto have the body work finished. The bodywork and paint prep for the outside ofthe body is still not completed. There are patch panels installed and otherwork done, but I don’t want anyone to think it is “ready for paint”. Theunderside of the body however, has been finished to a top level and is readyfor color.

Unfortunately, life got in the way,and my wants have changed. Kids are older and this won't be something we use as originally intended. Cash is always great, but I am open to trades. Camaros,Corvettes, Exotics, European sportscars, modern performance cars with low milesare all of interest to me. If you have something to trade, shoot me a message, you never know.

If you don't have the money, pleasedon't bid and screw up the auction for the rest of us. If you want to see thecar in person, message me, and I will be more than happy to meet with you. Irequire a deposit of $1,000.00 from the winning bidder within 24 hours ofauction close. Full payment due within 7 days, unless we have messaged and havemade other arrangements. If you back out after winning, for any reason otherthan the car is dramatically different than how it is presented, the deposit isnon-refundable. Once paid, I can store the car for a short time while youarrange transportation, so long as I am aware this is necessary. I accept Cashin person, or a Cashier's Check with me holding the title until the fundsclear.
