Current family purchased in 2014 from a private owner in Indiana. They had been in the diesel heavy equipment business for years, and have a lot of experience with mechanical and diesel. For the last five years the car has had extensivemaintenance and servicing upgrades. The owner has always been meticulous about taking care of things and has extensive service records you will find in photos.

* There are some pictures of extra parts and the last 5 years service history in Auto Connection Website photo.

Paint-

* The paint is all very highly polished and very smooth.

* It matches well the whole way around, and has a good shine to it.

* The paint all looks to be the quality of a typical factory paint in that day.

* The body side moldings with the shiny and colored finish have a few small flaws, but are typically all vinyl and look good. (See Pics)

* The current owner had the front bumper corner fillers replaced, and possibly the piece underneath the headlight.

* Being inspected under intense fluorescent lights, the hood has a couple nicks at the front, and possibly some small light bubbles. (See pics)

* There is a little spot in the middle of the hood that looks like the metallic may have changed a little bit. (See pics)

* There is a little bit of pitting on the top of the left fender, and a couple of light nicks on the quarters. (See pics)

* On the trunk there is a small spot where it started to raise a little. (See pics)

* Both fenders have a little bit a checking on the top edges. (See pics)

* There are not any significant long or deep scratches in paint.

* In the rear bumper filler strips you will see some colored rivets that were used to hold the filler in proper alignment.

* There are a couple of light scuffs in the hood, and the left quarter down lower that should polish right out.

Body-

* The body all appears to be very nice, and straight as you would expect the quality to be when it was built new.

* The fits around the hood, trunk, and 2 doors all seem very correct and factory like as well. When your looking at the factory gaps, the additional door guards do take up some of the gap.

* We do not see any significant creases or dents, with the only exceptions being two light dimples above the left rear tire (in the quarter) that are almost un-noticable except at the right angle, and right light. (See pics)

Magnetic Gauge-

* In doing a couple random readings on each of the metal painted panels of the car, it appears that most of the readings are in the range of 10 to 14 mils of paint and materials.

* This would not definitely, but likely indicate that sometime during its life it has had a respray to freshen it up. That is typical of even a low mileage older car that was I believe painted in lacquer at the time, and just normal polishing and with lacquer cracking would often necessitate a re-coat at sometime.

* Upon further inspection we do see a slight amount of over spray on the pillar to windshield molding, and one of the door handles. Very common no matter how well you maintain an old finish like this, they often need to be freshened up.

Bright Work-

* The simulated chrome surrounding the windshield as well as the stainless that surrounds the side glass is all in nice, and shiny condition showing very minimal wear. The only exception to that being that typically the bright work that is below the small side windows is typically of another finish, and it does have some light pitting in it.

* The bright work with the snaps that surrounds the back of the top also is in very nice condition, and has hardly any wear showing, and has a good reflective shine.

* Both side mirrors as well as the front and rear bumpers, and door handles have a very shiny and reflective finish that shows very well, and outside shows almost no indications of wear. (See pics)

* However under bright fluorescent lights at an angle you can see very light scratching, or wear on the bumpers front and rear, and headlight bezels. (See pics)

Glass-

* All four side windows, and the windshield all have PPG Softray logo, so they may in fact be original glass.

* We can not find any marking on the rear window glass, but its possibly covered over by the simulated convertible top.

* The glass really appears to be almost like new all the way around. The windshield may have a couple of pin head size nicks, but I was not able to find any. The side windows are free of any type of wear, or scratching from going up and down. The glass looks like that of an almost new car.

* We are not finding any delamination, bulls-eyes, cracks, wiper marks, and the glass is almost flawless.

* All side glass and the rear window have tint on the interior, and the windshield has a what looks to be an applied additional tint at the top sections approx. 6-8 inches down. (See pics)

Simulated Convertible Top-

* These tops are typically mounted on a shell to give the shape of a real convertible top, and are very popular.

* We have no knowledge if the car was born with this top, but it does have the appearance to be a factory ordered top but we do not know for sure.

* The top really needs a good cleaning, there is a lot of dirt in the pores. You will see in pictures a photo I took where I cleaned a small spot for 5 minutes, and will give an idea of what it would appear like when cleaned.

* It appears to have pretty decent color underneath the dirt.

* The stitching all appears to be in pretty good condition.

* The filler piece between the rear window, and the top does have some wear on it. Over all it looks like with some elbow grease it would be a very striking looking top that most people feel adds a lot to these cars.

* The very front strip does look like it has some light discoloring to it.

Interior-

* This interior looks like that of a car just a few years old, and shows extreme care.

* Its amazing how all the controls whether it be the turn signal indicator, the head lights, wipers, climate control, or door switches, you just do not see wear on the inside of the car. (See pics)

* The current owner had a new headliner installed, as the other had the typical glue dry out, and started to hang down in spots.

* There is an upgraded radio. as well as the original radio that goes with it.

* The sun visors look like they maybe original, the material on the bottom-side is just a little lose. The mechanism that holds the door shut is not working, but the lights do.

* The dash, door panels, side panels, and the rear are about as close to new as you could imagine.

*The seats show almost no wear, and at most may need a little cleaning on the driver side, but are extremely soft and not dried out.

*The carpet is again like that of a car only a couple years old.

* The arm rest typically on the doors are the first to crack, and show wear, and they are flawless in this car.

* The steering wheel is typically cracked, and its almost perfect in this car except for one tiny nick. The same is true of the leather. If you look at the upholster on the drivers seat there is actually no wear at all on it, those are more indications of just what an extremely nice car this is.

* You will notice on the dash an X.M. antenna, which can be removed. The flat piece with adhesive may, or may not be able to be removed without damaging the dash.

*The wiring down below is for auxiliary power as well as a USB, I-pod hook-up, or X.M. hook up if buyer wanted to put that back in.

Tires and Wheels-

* These are genuine real spoke wire wheels, aka the “Real McCoys”.

* Cooper Trendsetter SE

* Left Front – 205-75-15 9/32 Tread Remaining

* Left Rear- 205-75-15 9/32 Tread Remaining

* Right Front- 205-75-15 9/32 Tread Remaining

* Right Rear- 205-75-15 9/32 Tread Remaining

* We assume that these are the Cooper tires that where installed by the owners in the bills that we see approx. 5 years ago.

*We do not see any cracks, deterioration on the outside edges, or any damage to the tires or wheels.

* The outside chrome on these wheels (as far as the outside diameter which accompanies the air tire valve)is in nice condition showing the slightest amount of wear or deterioration.

* The inside hub that the spokes from the outside reach to on the inside need a really good cleaning.

* The most noticeable wear would be on the outside cap with the Cadillac emblem that do have light pitting, as well as some light nicking. Its been our experience that those most often happen because they stick out beyond the tire and wheel, and do get some abrasion from tires kicking up small rocks.

Trunk-

* Trunk shows little to no wear at all.

* The carpet all shows no wear, and appears that the mat has been on it.

* The trunk does have a factory style GM mat, as well as a factory mini spare tire, and jack mechanism located behind.

* Trunk has power pull down future.

Engine and Transmission-

* It is pretty obvious looking at the engine compartment that this engine has not seen many miles, or much exposure to the outside elements.

* It appears pretty much as you would have expected it to look new, with the exception being the current owners additional diesel fuel filtering unit that he had installed, and of course the two new batteries. I believe the fitting on the air conditioning is different because of the changes over to the newer style refrigerant(see in bills).

* The color of the coolant in the reservoir looks good, and the oil was on almost full.

* You will see the cord for the engine block heater.

Chassis-

* Your looking at a chassis that other than a very small amount of surface rust, its pretty much has an exposed bottom naturally without any coatings or painting so you can see its true condition.

* There appears to not be any rust perforation to the floor or on the frame, and looks to be original.

* You can see the new front axles that where installed.

* You will see that the leveling system for the rear air shocks all seems to be in place, and does have the automatic level control air shocks as well as disc brakes front, and rear.

* The exhaust system could be original components, though I am not positive. (See pics)

* We see a little dampness under the transmission pan. (See pics)

Mechanical-

* Level control air compressor kicks on and runs

* No charge light, stop engine, oil pressure light, and wait light all go out as soon as you start the car.

* Horn works

* Front fender marker lights work on both sides

* High beam headlights work- converted to halogen bulbs

* Low beams work

* Both license plate lights work

* Taillights work

* Brake lights work

* Twilightsentinel turns the lights on

* Left side blinker works, front and rear, and on the dash

* Right side blinker works, front and rear, and on the dash

* We forgot to try cruise control, but when you turn it on it does not light on the dash

* Trunk release works, and the dash information shows when the trunk is open

* Supports do hold the trunk up

* Light in the trunk does work

* Trunk power pull down unit does work

* Both map lights between the sun visors do work

* Power door locks work on both doors, and from both switches

* 6 way driver seat works in all directions

* 6 way passenger seat works in all directions

* Power window on the drivers door works, up and down

* Passenger side power window works, up and down

* Windshield wipers work, the car is clean so we did not try the washers

* Tilt and telescope steering works well and is good and solid and locks

* 4 way flashers work

* Remote mirror on the left and right operate, right side does not adjust so easily(very common)

* Radio gets some FM reception, nothing on AM

* Air conditioning cools well, and can hear the compressor cycle when on automatic

* Defrosters do blow, and switch for rear defroster does work, however its warm out so I am not able to tell if its working

* Automatic climate control turns on, and does blow heat. Digital read out on the climate control does work, as well as the colder and warmer buttons. In the automatic position you do get heat, and you also get cold air.

* Trip odometer is working and can be reset

* All the vents on the dash work, and are not broken

* Buzzer to indicates keys in ignition works

* The delay wipers work on low and medium, but not high

* Red and white courtesy lights on the inside do light

* Under the dash the lights work

* Emergency brake is not working(pedal not moving)

Test Drive-

Chad drove the car several miles with the owner to put up on a rack for inspection, and also drove the vehicle back. The engine started, ran, accelerated, de-acellerated, and shut off just as it was designed to. The steering had a lot of assist, and it was very easy to steer, and seemed to drive down the road straight. When the brakes where applied it stopped very smoothly, and evenly. We did not experience any pulling or pulsation at all, and stopped easily as you would expect from 4 wheel disc. The transmission up shifted, and down shifted, and seemed to be performing, and operating just as it was designed to. Felt very solid, and the car has that almost as if it was new feel and sound to it when driving.
