Up for auction is my 1961 Cadillac coupe deville. Last year for the famous GM Bubbletop coupe. This car was redone sometime in the 2000's in its home state of California. The body is super straight and the black paint still shines very well. There are a few imperfections in the paint around the car due to age and use. The left rear quarter has been touched up at some point. There is nothing so noticeable that it deters your eye. The cars condition shows very well for being 60 years old. It was pinstriped at some point by the famous California artist Wild Bill. The interior is also in good shape. It is done in brown suede and leatherette. The seats and headliner are perfect. The tops of the door panels are showing some wear due to sun damage. Updating the panel tops will make the interior perfect. The dash is beautiful and has a CD player with remote and Ipod aux cord. All lights, heater and wipers are functional.The engine starts and runs smooth. It is fairly clean under the hood and is not a leaker. The ignition system has been updated to electronic so it is super reliable. It has been updated with a one wire alternator setup also. The power brakes work great and the fronts have been updated to disc brakes. The four speed Cadillac transmission shifts as it should and the car glides down the road.The wide whites are Cokers and are brand new. The car had blackwall tires when I got it. Did not look correct so I changed them.This beautiful Cadillac came east around 2014. It was purchased at the Mecum auction in Kissimmee Florida. When I bought it I had it shipped to me in Boston. I am coming to the realization that I can't drive all my cars at once and decided to sell several of them rather that let them just sit and wait their turn to be driven. I will say that the black "Batman" caddy gets used quite a bit when we go out for a few reasons. Its is super nice but not perfect so I don't worry as much. It drives and cruises great. But the real reason we love to drive it is that people LOVE the black futuristic 61 Bubbletop coupe deville.I would ask people to remember that these old cars are not new, just like us, and you are not buying a brand new car.
