35,850 miles, very desirable Hydramatic trans. Genuine classic as recognized by Classic Car Club of America. Popular touring car in their caravans. EXTERIOR: Very elegant and handsome design. Rust free, damage free body. Very clean metal. Everything fits really well, you can close any of doors with 2 fingers. Only repainted one time. The paint is a smooth glossy finish. The chrome is fantastic. Up front the bumper with the optional bumper guards is gleaming. The pot metal grill and side hood grills are bright and not pitted. The flowing lady hood ornament also serves as the hood release lever, first year the hood opened from the front. Headlight rings, door handles, fender spears are excellent. Taillights housings and rear bumper are excellent. The taillight also hides the fuel cap. Stainless trim around the windows is excellent. The glass is excellent. Clean door jambs, nice weatherstrips. Has optional fog lamps and fender skirts. The Cadillac medalions on the skirts are excellent. Rubber stone gaurds are like new. Deluxe full size hubcaps are mint, has wide white wall tires. Truthfully, the exterior of this car is exceptional.
INTERIOR: It is pretty close to pristine inside too. Very luxurious. Faux woodgrain trim is in excellent condition. The gauges, knobs, levers, steering wheel are excellent. Has turn signals and automatic shifter, 2 rare desirable features in 1941. The tan broadcloth upholstery throughout is beautiful. Not stained, worn or torn. Seats, headliner, door panels are excellent. The cloth welting is excellent. In back there is a fold down armrest, a little roll top door in each armrest hides the ashtrays. Even the cigarette lighter knobs are cool. The only significant flaw is the rubber heel pad on the driver's side carpet is brittle. Original owner's manual is in the glovebox.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Left alone, clean original. Everything is proper and clean but not detailed. The 346 V-8 runs smooth, carb was rebuilt.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Still fully lined in it's original trunk liner. Has original jack and tools. The spare has a white wall tire that has never been used. Has shop manuals.
UNDERSIDE: There is no rot whatsoever. Look how clean the floors, rockers and frame are. Not even pitted. Within the last few years it had a complete brake system overhaul. In front new springs, rebuilt hydraulic shocks. The bottom of the motor is very clean, alot of the original paint is still in tact. Has very desirable auto trans.
I've grown up with old cars and the 1941 Cadillac has always been a favorite of mine. Very handsome and stately. This is a genuine classic, not just referred to as a classic. The Classic Car Club of America determines a true classic and they are mostly the older V-16 Caddys, Duesenbergs, V-12 Packards etc. I think this may be the newest car to be given that elite status. It can participate in CCCA functions. The automatic trans makes much easier to drive too. Condition means a lot on a car like this and this one is exceptional. If you had to start replacing broken knobs, cracked steering wheel or nasty looking gauges- good luck. Clean body, outstanding chrome, beautiful interior saves you a fortune. This classic is ready to enjoy!
