1949 sedan Factory 3 speed manual transmission and column shift
1949 Cadillac DeVille
1949 Cadillac sedan. This is a fairly solid car that sat in a small Kentucky salvage yard since the 80s. We saved it from the crusher because it retains its complete 331-V8 and manual transmission drivetrain. They only made a handful of these cars during the 49-52 series and not many are left.
The engine appears to be the original '49 unit and all the manual transmission pieces are intact - column shifter, bellhousing, flywheel, pedals, driveshaft, radiator, rear axle, etc. The frame appears solid and much of the floors, rocker and trunk aren't rusted through.
The engine doesn't turn by hand but I haven't really put much force to it yet. The starter was removed years ago and is laying in the rear seat...Might be why it was parked all those years ago.
Someone removed a lot of trim from the car and cut out door handles, dash trim and other pieces. We have kept it stored under a cover since we've owned it.
The car rolls and steers, and we installed a couple tubes in the tires so they will hold air for transport.
There is no title but I will provide a bill of sale. (Ebay doesn't give the option for no title so we had to choose 'salvage')
Its located in Amelia, 45102, just east of Cincinnati. We can store the car for a short period of time if you're sending a transporter and can assist with loading. Delivery in the local area may be possible for a modest fee.
I'd prefer to sell the complete car rather than spend a lot of labor removing the drivetrain. I'm sure there are a lot of 3-speed specific brackets and hardware that you'll want to save as well.
Questions and inspections are welcome.
Thanks for looking!
