She ordered the car from Al Johnson Cadillac of Tinley Park, IL and opted for just about every option she could, even ticking the box for the uber-expensive stainless steel astroroof, a $3,838 add-on in 1979 ($13,540 today!). Through the last 40 years the car has been absolutely treasured under her ownership. The car will even come with a photo from when she brought it home in 1979, sitting alongside her Eldorado Convertible, also white. Very cool. The condition of this car is tremendously impressive inside, out, and underneath, especially considering that it's a completely stock example that has never been painted, reupholstered, or modified in any way. This is not one of those cars that was used for a few years then put away in storage; this car has been continuously used as a summer cruiser and continues to be registered here in Illinois. Service records indicate 13k miles in 1988, 17k in 1991, 22k in 1998, 29k in 2000, 34k in 2003, 35k in 2009. In 2015, the owner took the car to American Auto Restoration of Homer Glen, IL and said "make it daily-driver-ready”. As it sits now, this is a well-spec'd, low mile, entirely original, well-documented, one-owner example in the striking colorway of white over red with white leather. With $3k-worth of refreshing and upkeep in the last few years, this car is ready to be used and enjoyed by its next owner. Exterior: - Please see the video along with the listing, as the car is shown in detail. As far as blemishes, there's really not much to note. The condition of this car is massively impressive. There are a few little chips scattered about the front end, nothing significant. Again, please defer to the video for close-ups of everything. - Cotillion White paint is original, as confirmed with an elcometer. No panels have ever been removed or resprayed. - Polished surfaces are excellent throughout. Bumpers and trim show no oxidation or real signs of age. - All glass and light lenses are clear and crack-free. - White top is in excellent condition. No discoloring, scuffs, or other damage. Very, very nice. - Wheels show no curb rash or noteworthy signs of age. Michelin Whitewalls are in great shape, with no dryness and not much for wear. DOT M3CC BC3X 0800. - Stainless astroroof is like-new. No scratches or scuffs. A huge plus for this car. It's a beautiful thing, and contrasts so well with the polished mid-line trim. Interior: - Interior is pretty amazing. White leather is excellent. The only thing to nitpick condition-wise on the interior is a tiny bit of a blue hue on the outward-facing portion of the front seat bottom. Like the original couple that owned the car always wore jeans or something. It's not significant by any means, but worth noting as this is an A-level survivor. Rear seats are like new. Headliner is clean and tight. Dark Carmine carpet is like-new, still plush and with vibrant color. Original floormats are in great shape too. - AM/FM/8 Track radio is functional. Digital dash display is functional, managed through the control board in the center of the dash. Amazing to see such tech in a car of the 70s. This car was optioned with auto-dimming brights, which Cadillac called "Guidematic Headlamp Control”. Odometer is functional and known to be accurate, verified by a tremendous amount of paperwork over the years. Trip meter doesn't seem to work though, oddly enough. Sunroof is functional. Fan/heat/defrost are functional. Air conditioning kicks on but does not blow cold. All interior and exterior lights are functional. Soft close trunk is not functional, trunk release in glovebox does work. - Dash is free of any cracks, warping, or discoloring. Same with the steering wheel. Very clean. Under the Hood / Underbody: - Please take a look through the underbody photos, as the car is documented in detail. No through rust or damage whatsoever. Again, impressive. - The car runs and drives beautifully. Ride quality is out of this world, and the car is dead silent both at idle and at speed. This car starts first turn, idles cool and steady, pulls smoothly through the gears, shifts on-time and without any clunking or hesitation, tracks straight, and brakes straight and effectively. A 2015 service included replacement of the EGR valve and gasket, valve cover gaskets, trunk shocks, shifter bushings, trans fluid/filter, and repair of the fuel sending unit. A 2018 service included replacement of two brake calipers, the alternator, and the battery. As it sits now, this car is in need of nothing other than a new owner to use and enjoy it.
