Styling and horsepower sold cars in the Fifties, and nobody knew that better than Cadillac. Style-wise, it's famous tailfins debuted on the 1948 models, a design hallmark that was destined to last nearly two generations. A year later the trend-setting Series 62 Coupe de Ville hardtop bowed. Although styling changed from year to year, Cadillac carefully maintained a continuity of design so that even though the car always looked "new," there could never be any mistake that it was indeed "The Standard of the World."
Offered is this beautiful 1953 Cadillac Coup, just out of a longterm storage. This car sports it's matching number Original 331 ci V8 and Hydra-Matic automatic transmission and optioned with power steering & brakes, full wheel hubcaps, E-Z-Eye tinted glass, whitewall tires. This is a very capable driver.Not a trailer queen that you would be afraid to drive.
In 1953, Cadillac made only slight changes to the Series 62 body style that included heavier bumpers with integrated bumperettes, redesigned headlight brows with parkingLamps / Fog lights repositioned underneath. Changes under the hood did include an upgrade to 210 horsepower mated to a standard Hydro-Matic automatic transmission which made it the fastest car for 1953. it also came with rocker trim and the V-emblems marked the hood and deck lid to set Cadillacs upscale luxury line apart.
This 1953 Cadillac coupe was taken in on trade and has had the following items replaced or rebuilt to enhance its road worthiness after it was pulled from long term storage. All brake cylinders where replace along with brake lines and shoes, original carburetor was rebuilt, new valve job, new gas tank and lines, all fluids changed, new Cadillac scripts on both right and left front fenders, New Battery, New dual exhaust and mufflers. The undercarriage and frame were steamed cleaned and sprayed with POR-15. Prior to its hibernation the Cadillac received cosmetic restoration, which included a new paint job, and interior to include the headliner, seats, and door cards.
This beauty glides effortlessly like it floating on air I have personally driven this car in and about town and to car shows without any issues. I love being behind the wheel of this time capsule. Everywhere I go, I get thumbs up and smiles from young and old.
