DRIVETRAIN:The 16 valve 429 ci. V8 engine starts easily and is in good running condition. It is rated at 340 hp. and is fueled by a 4 bbl. carburetor.Owner indicates minor exhaust leaks at the manifolds, otherwise the engine sounds good.It sports Cadillac script valve covers, and all other mechanical components on and around the engine appear as original and in serviceable condition.Belts and hoses all appear in good condition. A new power steering belt is included as there is a bit of squealing from the present one. The engine compartment basically shows the road dust and soiling of its miles and could be enhanced with some cleaning and detailing. The original GM glass reservoir bottle with cap is still located in its bracket ahead on the left inner fender.Decal indicates the AC has been retrofitted to R-134a refrigerant, however, the AC is not currently working and the problem has not been investigated. The GM Turbo 400 3-speed automatic transmission shifts as it should. No major leaks or puddles noted but the undercarriage shows the usual weeping of a driven car.CHASSIS:The perimeter frame appears very solid and straight in all respects. There are no signs of collision damage or rust issues. All chassis components appear as original equipment, and display the typical road dirt of their miles. Equipped with power steering and brakes in good order.Suspension components still providing a smooth ride.Has new mufflers but requires new pipes. Three tires are Firestone 235-75R15 radials in very good condition with lots of tread remaining. The right rear is a Coker American Classic. All are mounted on original rims sporting 1956 Cadillac hubcaps, although a set of correct caps are included.Non matching spare with excellent tread.BODY & PAINT:This was a relatively clean, straight and solid car prior to the present owner restoring the body and paint in its original color. Paint code confirms this car left the factory black, at some point in the past it was repainted red. The owner stripped it to bare metal and took extra care to get all panels very straight prior to applying a very nice black paint job.Fit and alignment of all body panels is good, and there is no evidence of any collision damage.

The hood and trunk lid have been wet sanded and polished and look outstanding. The rest of the car has not been polished but still looks great, similar attention there would enhance it to the next level.

All floor pans, trunk pan, inner and outer rocker panels, quarter panels, and door bottoms are very solid. The front fenders had some rust out at the lower rear sections, these were cut out and new metal panels were welded in for a proper repair. A couple of minor rust spots were properly cut out and patched in the trunk area, and it was refinished in an appropriate spackle finish. These were the only rust related issues with the car and they have been professionally repaired to prevent any future problems.

The door panels, arm rests, and rear side panels are originals in nice condition.Driver's door panel has remote for outside mirror. Both sides of sun visors in nice condition. Original carpeting on floors, kick panels, and lower door panels shows minor aging but is overall in pretty decent condition, looks worse in pics due to dust. The trunk has been completely lined with new material and is very tidy.Weather seals are all original and showing wear. All glass on the car is good, including the windshield which shows no gravel rash.CONVERTIBLE TOP:The top is in overall good condition and has a glass rear window, which does not need to be unzipped when lowering the top. There is only one small tear just above the left belt line, certainly not worth replacing the top. There is a correct patterned boot, possibly original, but somewhat of a tight fit. Two sheet metal screws help secure the leading edge, and for these pics we did not bother to secure the boot all around. The top bow assembly is in good order, and the top goes up and down with no problem.BRIGHTWORK:The bumpers, chrome, and trim on the car are all original and in very good condition.
