1983 Cadillac Seville
A needle in a haystack.. . . 1983 CadillacSeville . 13k miles . 61 high resolution pictures below From the FleetofCads collection The second generation Seville was one of the last vehicles designed by GM's Bill Mitchell. The iconic lines of this car date back to the late 1960s in various GMdesign studio drawings and made it's debut in the fall of 1979 to great fanfare and controversy. Although there wasdecent production numbers for this body's 6 year run, very few were saved by collectors, mainly because of the popularity of the midsized coupes of this era. This is proving to have been a big oversight. On any given day you can find a nice low mile Eldorado of this generation but the low mile Sevilles are very scarce and have become very sought after. The demand for this body amongst collectors have more than doubled in the last 5 years as many Cadillac aficionados are snapping up the best examples for their collections. ThisSeville body(80-85), designed by famed GM stylist Bill Mitchell continue to get better looking as the years go by as they evolve into a timeless classic.A unique ensemble of tradition indesign with it's slicked-back windscreen and square-ish solid lines and the rear of the car havinga pastiche of vintage high-end English limousine styling with nods to the Hooper-bodied 1954 Rolls-Royce and any number of Daimlers. 1983 CadillacSevilleinCotillion Whitewitha leather interior in Dark Maple. This stunning Cadillac is a total unicorn when it comes to it's rarety. The great body style, the winning color scheme, having only 13k miles but most of all being a Diesel! As most of us know, the first generation Diesel(1978-1981) had many flaws and gained a very bad name. If GM engineering had been able to build it like they wanted it would have been a terrific option for the time, but with budget restraints, silly shortcuts were made causing reliability issues. These issues were fixed and reworked on the new dx block diesels that were introduced in 1982. Unfortunately by this time, the public relations damage had been done and very few of these reliable diesels were ordered by dealership fleet departments. The public had moved on. The 1982-1985 dx block diesels were built in such few numbers that they are nearly impossible to find today. To find a 13k mile 1983 Cadillac Seville diesel is a mind boggling find for sure. Collectors have had a renewed interest in these cars for some time now. This beautiful example is a one owner car and still has it's first issued title from 1985. It has always been garage kept with zero sun fade on it's beautiful dark maple interior. Car starts right up and runs and drives like a dream. Chrome and all lenses are in unbelievable shape. No rubs on the bumper moldings all the way around. Class at every angle. . Bid with confidence, win with high expectations! TERMS AND CONDITION OF THIS AUCTION
