1979 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible "San Remo" Numbered Edition No Reserve
1979 Cadillac Eldorado San Remo
Up for sale is a very rare and personally owned 1979 Cadillac Eldorado Numbered San Remo edition. This car is number 13 out of 15 ever made and is a very rare car, and here is a link that shows what the car is, and what went into this car, when it was originally conceived and manufactured by a special company in California.http://phscollectorcarworld.blogspot.com/2016/04/limited-editions-cadillac-san-remo.html
Overall, this car shows well but it will need some TLC in certain areas to make it pristine. One of these cars recently went up for auction and sold for a whopping $60,000 and is being offered here on ebay for NO RESERVE and the highest bidder will win her.To begin with this car was always a Florida vehicle, and I have owned her for three years, and I really do no want to sell her, but the Condo Association where the car is garaged will not let me put a cover on her, and also run a battery tender to make sure she is always charged, and neighboring vehicles have often parked too close to the vehicle which will cause certain cosmetic mishaps in the near future.I love the car and this car gets tremendous attention wherever she goes, but I want someone to enjoy her, and care for her the way she needs to be attended to, to make sure she is enjoyed for years to come. The good news is the car runs and drives Magnificently! The car shows less than 6,000 miles, and the running of the car acts like that mileage, but the true mileage is unknown, as I only have put less than 2,000 miles on her in three years!
The engine is a legendary ROCKET 350 and has tremendous acceleration, and leaks and burns nothing. The transmission is perfect and shifts in all gears flawlessly. The brakes were totally redone, with all new pads and calipers, and a brand new brake cylinder booster and all the tires are all almost new with less than 2500 miles on them. The steering and front end were all serviced and move this gorgeous vehicle down the road effortlessly and with stature and good handling,The exhaust seems to have been modified to have no catalytic converter and is relatively new and sounds amazing, and actually gets better performance and gas mileage with the newer exhaust system. The vehicle actually gets around 24 MPG on the highway!
The convertible functions perfectly up and down, however there is a small tear in the passenger area, and the top sags in the front area slightly. The boot that comes with it is in perfect condition, and really makes the car stand out and look complete.Local vendors in the area have stated that the top does not need to be replaced and could be repaired. The Electronics work for the most part. The climate control motor was rerouted to a switch underneath the dash, and all the lights work, and occasionally the brake lights in brake mode work intermittently. The ac compressor is there, but it has been disconnected and would need to be addressed, but I never needed it with the top down. The Radio works and powers on but does not play through the speakers and there is a CD Changer installed in the back that has not been checked out.A simple upgrade to the radio is all that is needed as the automatic Cadillac antennae does go up and down when the radio is turned on. The interior looks like it was replaced with a newer version as there are no tears and no rips and could use a quality detail to bring it its original luster. The power windows work but the seat adjusters are nonfunctional and would need to be addressed. The car's body is actually in pretty good shape.
The car looks like it may have been repainted but the overall quality looks good, as it shines pretty well, and there is a very small push in the left front fender and some cracking on one of the body fillers right there as well.Other than that the car has no visible rust on the body and has no dents, and only very small abrasions and nicks here and there, but for a car that is almost 40 years old, the car is in very good condition. What's also amazing is that this car can be driven now, with really no work, and get tremendous accolades of praise from everyone that sees her, but if you want to make her stand out like the original designers of the San Remo company intended, you could spend a few dollars and make her pristine and have a car that is worth between $25,000 and $35,000.This car is a rare car, and in its present state is a very good driver that will get a lot of attention.
It is offered here with a NO RESERVE and a NON REFUNDABLE $100.00 paypal deposit due within 24 Hours, and the balance due within three days. We reserve the right to end the auction at any time, or sell it to a local buyer, as it is offered locally. The car has a clean title and can be registered in any state.Call if you have any questions.
