Description:
1990 Cadillac Brougham
Classic 1990 Cadillac BroughamAsking $15,000. It's definitely worth the asking price, but if you have cash in hand and are willing to do a little negotiating, I invite you to submit your best reasonable offer since I would like a quick sale instead of a long, drawn out online auction.
Personally, I think it's more fair and less stressful to both buyer and seller since they don't feel pressured to engage in a bidding war. I would advise anyone who is seriously interested in this car to make a move as soon as possible since I have hundreds of page views and many, many prospective buyers actively considering the car right now. It's extremely important for you to know you're getting a car that is exactly as described to the best of my ability as a Cadillac collector myself. If you want more pictures of anything including the undercarriage, just ask me. You could literally fry steak and eggs on the catalytic converter and eat it off the undercarriage of this car. It's that clean. Anyhow, here's the "fast facts" about this Brougham. If you like to read and want the whole story behind it, scroll to the bottom.
Classic 1990 Cadillac Brougham "Fast Facts"
- All original
- At the time, it was the largest regular production car made in America at 221" (18 feet 4 inches) long.
- 1990 was the last year for factory lacquer paint. This car is finished in Diplomat Blue metallic with Dark Blue leather interior.
- Only one previous owner before me. He owned the car for 26 years (1990-2016).
- 49,100 actual miles.
- 5.7L (350 cubic inch) fuel-injected V8
- Looks beautiful and gets compliments everywhere it goes.
- Runs and drives like new.
- NO EXCUSES - No accidents - No bodywork - No floods - No rust - It's never been driven in snow or salty roads.
- One of cleanest, well-documented Broughams in the country!
- Comes with original window sticker, invoices, sales brochures, leather glovebox manual
- Also comes with the large, thick service/shop manual and the 4 original GOLD KEYS. (see photos)
- Also includes some very rare "holy grail" legacy items such as the Cadar model-specific radar detector manufactured by Vogue with an original retail price of $499.95, the original Uniroyal Royal Seal whitewall/goldwall tires, and a very cool 1990's car phone mounted to the transmission hump.
- Clear PA title in hand. PA State safety and emissions inspection valid through 2018.
- The original paint is in excellent shape, except where it's faded on the hood and trunk lid. Since the faded areas still shine nicely when waxed, I decided to leave the originality of the car intact and NOT have it repainted. Originality is very important, and I thought it best to leave the decision "to paint or not to paint" up to the next owner.
- It has been brought to my attention that the AutoCheck vehicle history report shows an odometer reading of 98,000 miles in the year 2000. This was an erroneous entry made by a mechanic who was performing the annual PA safety and emissions inspection. The error was made because this car has the first-generation digital speedometer/odometer. Sometimes, the first three numbers of the odometer read incorrectly due to extraneous display segments lighting up when they should be off, and the original owner never had it repaired. The correct, current mileage is 49,100. It is absolutely verifiable by looking at the vehicle's title, official state inspection records, and I took a picture of the odometer showing the correct mileage. I even have pictures of the original PA inspection sticker dated to the exact day that error was made, showing the car's VIN number, inspection record, and mileage at 48,666 on 12/28/2000. I would be happy to send these additional pictures to you upon request.
Available for sale worldwide. Buyer is responsible for all costs associated with purchasing this car, including but not limited to vehicle shipping, applicable tax, duties, customs fees, temporary registration "transit" tags, insurance, and other incidental expenses.
This car was put into long-term garage storage in 2001 and did not see more than a few hundred miles added to the odometer from 2001 to present day. When I bought it, I found it to be in pristine condition besides the faded paint on the hood and trunk lid I've gone into detail about above. Over the past few years, I've changed all the shocks (including new air shocks and spring/drier assembly for the level ride compressor), changed all the fluids, kept it washed, waxed, and polished all the time, and made sure everything that needed grease or lubrication got plenty of it. I've driven it very sparingly, only in nice weather, to enjoy a nice night on the town or to participate in local classic car shows. It gets compliments everywhere it goes.
There is no rust in any of the usual problem areas such as the floor pans, doors, rockers, fenders, quarter panels, wheel wells, under the vinyl roof, etc. The engine is whisper quiet and runs smooth as a Cadillac should. The transmission shifts beautifully in all gear ranges. Because this was built as an optional 5.7L V8 towing package car from the ground up, the transmission is the very strong 700-R4 / 4L60 4-speed overdrive unit. This model year normally featured the Oldsmobile 5.0L 4 bbl. / 200-4R drivetrain. Not this car! The factory upgraded valve body, special accumulators, and other settings explain why it shifts firmer and quicker than the standard models. This Caddy moves down the road with ease, and passes everythingincludinga gas station. You can expect to get 20 MPG on the highway. Not bad for a living room on wheels!
The interior is sumptuous and designed in a grand style sure to please the most discriminating Cadillac enthusiast. From the artfully concealed instrument cluster warning lights behind the burl wood insert to the dual 60/40 power reclining seats, from the automatic trunk lid pull-down assist to the electronic digital climate control system, from the beautifully crafted exterior body design featuring sharp angular lines and dimensional depth to the shimmering chrome / stainless steel brightwork, this car was made to realize such high standards of form and function, fit and finish.Do not delay if you are interested in this car. This is a true survivor Brougham from bumper to bumper. I've owned many cars, and this one is truly a special Cadillac that will surely keep increasing in value year over year. Not many cars made in the 90's will ever be classic cars in the purest sense, but the Brougham is the exception to the rule. When the rest of Detroit finally succumbed to the European styling influences spreading throughout the industry like wildfire, Cadillac squarely bucked the trend for another few short years. From 1977-1992, this car remained basically unchanged as far as the body and frame are concerned. The 1990 Brougham is a traditional, heavy, rear wheel drive, body-on-frame car with it's prideful, righteous place in automotive history that reminds us all when we used to build cars the right way in America...with all the modern upgrades and conveniences such as power everything, keyless entry, ABS brakes, fuel injection, digital instrumentation, digital electronic climate control, and unique styling cues for the trained eye to instantly differentiate it from the 70's and 80's era Cadillacs.
