1958 Cadillac Fleetwood

Here we have a 1958 cadillac fleetwood series 75 limousine that has been in my family since 1968. my father purchased this car in 1968 and when he married my mother she hated the car and refused to ride in it so in 1979 he parked it in the garage and never drove it again. This car has been garaged but never driven since 1979 the interior is completly dry rotted and the engine will not turn over. we put in a battery and all the lights came on and power windows worked except one. we put the rear passanger window down then it wouldn't go back up. Unfortunatly motor would not turn All of the glass is good with no cracks except for the front driver wing window has cracks in it. See the pictures most all the original parts are there. all the chrome is in great shape and could be buffed to a brilliant shine. the steering wheel dash and all the expensive original parts are there. the body is one of the most perfect you would find for a 58 . its straight no bondo only small body damage is on the rear fin (see picture) and a small hole worn in drivers floor Again this car does not run but is complete and will need a total restoration.
The bonuses This car has a clear title we have the 1968 pink slip in hand and this car is still registered in the california dmv system. it has been on non op all these years so no back fees due just a title transfer like buying any car.
The mystery: My dad was the third owner he says the kid he bought it from in 68 claimed to have bought it from the state of california in 62 . I dont know how to trace vehicle history I do have a registration card with the name of who my dad bought it from but we always wondered if his story is true This very well could have been a california governors car. See one of the pictures the doors have a round circle on them where a official seal could have been. Maybe 1958 Governor Goodwin Knight maybe 1960 Governor Pat Brown ( Current Governor Jerry Browns father) Motorcade limousine?
