INTERNATIONAL AND OVERSEAS BUYERS WELCOME! PLEASE CALL ME AT 626-627-18OO WITH ANY QUESTIONS OR IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO JUST BUY IT NOW! This is the best deal you will find on a hard to find LaSalle coupe on Ebay or anywhere else! It is a very rare 1940 LaSalle Series 52 Coupe. Only approximately 3,000 Series 52 deluxe coupes were produced in 40 and who knows how many have survived. 1940 was the final year for the LaSalle as it was the companion marque to Cadillac but they were outselling Caddy by 2 to 1 that year. Essentially they killed the LaSalle line to save the Cadillac. You see a 40 Ford all the time, right next to the 8 million red, fiberglass 1932 Roadsters at all of the shows. When was the last time you saw a LaSalle coupe? This is an bone stock example that, according to the 89 year old previous owner, has only 64,000 original miles. The car definitely has the swoopy 1940s Gangster style look that everybody loves. Black with tan interior. The car runs and drives well. It is powered by the 322 cubic inch Flathead V-8 mated to a three speed manual transmission. It is no modern freeway flyer or anything but it drives well for what it is. The body is solid. The floorboards are solid. The rockers have some rust that can be repaired or just left as is if you want a driver and not a show car. The black paint was re-done and was a lower end re-paint. It was originally a black car. I could be like everybody else on Ebay and tell you everything is perfect, but it is not. The paint is not as nice as it looks in the pictures. Like the old guy said, it is not as good as a 10 footer, not as bad as a 20 footer. He said it is a 12 footer. The interior is completely original from the factory. It has never been restored. It certainly has some wear in spots but if you appreciate 100 percent original examples that have survived almost 70 years, you wouldn't touch it. Factory Banjo steering wheel and dash. Wide White Wall tires. Factory style hubcaps. All in all, this is just a desirable example of 1940s cool. Even basket case projects that need a full restoration are bringing good money. You are always best off starting with the best car you can afford. This is a good very complete driver quality coupe at the price of a project. I think you could search for a long time to find a better one for the money. THIS ONE IS GOING TO SELL! Clean, clear CA title in hand. I am located in Sierra Madre, California near Los Angeles.
