1952 Buick Special NO RESERVE resto-mod or restore
1952 Buick Special
1952 Buick Special NO RESERVE
I am starting to liquidate some of my car collection. I have over 62 cars and I do not want to leave a burden on my kids or wife, given they do not appreciate classic cars and do not wish to have any of them. Some are projects, some are very rare trailer queens and others are drivers. So watch for my auctions of over the next few months.
Up for auction is a really nice 1952 Buick Special, with a straight eight cylinder engine “Fireball Eight” as they were referred to back then. I like to buy nice rust free cars that are worthy of restoration, or resto-mod’ing. I think these early 1950’s Buicks were some of the most iconic vehicles and a real piece of unique auto styling. Anyone can buy a Mustang or Camaro and they are all over the place, but who drives a 1952 Buick?? I like to be different and I like a unique look. This car definitely has a unique look and super cool style. This car is in really good shape, too. For a car that is 70 + years old, there is remarkably little rust. I was planning on making this a resto-mod. This body is in such good shape, it is the perfect candidate for a fun resto-mod project with whatever engine/tranny combo you can dream up. The trunk is in original condition, right down to the floor mats. No rust holes or patches. Nice solid trunk area. Most of the time, the trunk is where the trouble will be as they like to trap water in the trunk area. I believe this car was stored in the garage most of its life. The car does start and run. I would say it’s a yard driver, but I would not try and drive it home. It will need a complete shake down of brakes and fuel system before embarking on a long road trip. After all, this car is 70+ years old. I know this sounds redundant, but you would be surprised by the messages I get sometimes from guys wanting to drive a resto project clear cross country to their home! Better safe, than sorry guys. The car is equipped with a 2 speed Dynaflow automatic. Please look real close at the pictures. If you have questions or you are not sure about something, please MESSAGE ME BEFORE YOU BID. . I can supply better pics if requested of specific areas, if you want. Please message me and I will do my best. The car is in my North Carolina warehouse and I am in Florida for awhile, but I can have one of my employees take the pictures. Please, no time burners. If you are not serious, please do not contact me. While on that subject, if you guys have to ask for your boyfriend, for permission to buy, please go elsewhere. If you need a loan, or bank to approve the transaction, please do not bid. This is a cash only transaction (bank wire or cash on pick up. Now I just sold my Ford F450 dually and some girlie boy bid on it and didn’t have the cash, and swore his bank would lend the money, well we all know how that ended. Ebay is not a game. Please do not bid if you can’t pay cash. Sorry if it sounds rude but these type people can waste a lot of time and time is something in short supply with me. Now, I do allow inspections. If you want to look at the car or hire an inspector you are welcome to do so. I have no problems with that. I do have a great guy I use for shipping who is local and usually picks up cars for me. He is very reasonable and quick. Auto shippers/brokers are very unreliable and stressful to deal with when shipping cars/trucks. My guy is great. Now let’s talk title. This car is sold as bill of sale only, which means I do not have a title. Not to worry, most states allow for antique vehicles to be registered in their states if they are 20+ years old. Some states call it bonding a car, others call it different names. I have two old ford trucks that were the same deal. It is a relatively simple process. It’s fairly common for an old guy to lose a title or die and the estate or family sells the car as is and most states have very reasonable programs to get a title issued. Let’s, see what else, well I guess that’s about it. I suggest you take real good look at the pictures and don’t be afraid to call me if you have questions. My name is Lee and my number is 910.476.4268. I try and describe the car as accurately as possible. I have been with ebay or 20+ years and have 100% feedback. Bid with confidence. Now I do reserve the right to sell the car locally. If I do, I will cancel the auction immediately. If you have to have this car, and I have been there a time or two, just call me and we can work something out. Otherwise bid accordingly. NO ZERO FEEDBACK BUYERS. All inspections welcomed, before you bid. Do not bid, then inspect after the bid period.
