Seller’s Note:

“This car is a time capsule. It was originally purchased by my father in Arkansas in 1986 and has been in the southeast most of its life. It was brought to California in 2018. It has 85,970 original miles. It was ordered in the tradition of a true muscle car with no options. Everything is manual windows, door locks, seats. It has a clean CA title and registration and recently passed a SMOG check. It has always been adult driven, never raced, and well-maintained. It is mostly original - details are below. The car has been with me since 1996 but I no longer have the time to enjoy it so it is time for a new owner. The Good: Mechanically in great condition. It is ready to drive anywhere. It has new 17 wheels and BFGoodrich g-Force Sport Comp tires with very low mileage. *I do have the original wheels and they will go with the car* The Bad: The car has original paint and it is not in good condition. It needs to be repainted. There is no rust and all of the sheet metal is in good condition. The front seats need to be re-upholstered, but the floor, headliner, and rear seats are in good condition. The door seals need to be replaced. Body Overall the body is in good condition with minor dings and scratches. The right rear quarter was scraped by road debris so it was sanded and painted to protect the metal. You can inspect it from the inside of the trunk to confirm there was only minor damage. The bumper fillers were replaced with fiberglass reproduction parts. At that time the bumpers were removed and stripped and repainted. All emblems were removed in anticipation of a paint job. I have them all (see photos) as well as some new ones that were never installed. The wheel well trim was removed, but I have all 4. Comes with a brand-new fitted car cover. Interior The headliner was replaced several years ago and is still in good condition. The carpet is in good condition. The front seats need to be re-upholstered. They have color-matching covers on them now. The back seat is in good condition. The dash has some of the usual warping but overall is in good shape. The upper dash was replaced. Since GN colors were not available the part had to be painted. I bought interior paint from Kirban but the color is slightly off. The original digital tachometer and boost gauge do not work. They light up but the indications are wrong. This is a very common problem with these old Buicks. I have never attempted to repair them since I am a casual (slow) driver. I have read on some forums the module can be rebuilt. Engine/Tranny There have been no internal modifications to the engine or transmission. They are both in excellent condition. The car has always had Mobil 1 synthetic oil and has been meticulously maintained throughout its entire life. When the car was nearly new a Borla cat-back stainless exhaust was added and it sounds amazing. It is still in great condition, but I do not have the original exhaust. The radiator was replaced with an aluminum radiator a few years ago. I tried to find an original but could not find one with an oil cooler. This improves cooling but does not look original. The MAF was also replaced. The air conditioner was converted to R134 about 10 years ago. The drier was replaced, adapters added to the connectors, the system was vacuumed down and the lubricant and refrigerant were replaced. It holds a charge but the air is cool, not cold. Suspension All 4 brakes were rebuilt with factory spec parts and are still in good condition. The car handles well for a car of this age. The original Powermaster brake system is still intact, but the accumulator and pressure switch have been replaced.”
