1968 Buick Skylark

This is a 1968 Buick Skylark base model and is equipped with an aftermarket 455ci V8 big block. This monster of an engine will put you back in your seat. The V8 has a new electric fan and aluminum radiator to manage heat and is mated to a professionally rebuilt TH400 automatic transmission. The odometer shows 2,305 miles, though the true mileage is unknown. This Skylark has recently undergone a frame-off restoration. All body bushings were replaced with new polyurethane bushings. The suspension has been modernized using the QA1 Level 2 coil over kit. The original drum brakes have been replaced with a modern disc brake system. The dual exhaust system has been completely replaced and is equipped with two Flowmaster 40 series mufflers (which sound amazing). This Skylark was originally equipped with A/C. While the A/C is not functioning, the original parts are included. The roof was recently painted in a metallic black, while the rest of the vehicle has been repainted in the original Blue Mist Metallic. The hood has been replaced with a rare 1968 Buick GS 400 hood (originalhood is available). While driving at night the road will be illuminated by modern LED low headlights and halogen high beams.
The interior of the vehicle has also undergone restoration and is approximately 90% complete. The original front bench seat has been replaced with bucket seats (original bench seat is available). All seats are wrapped in new upholstery. The floor has been wire brushed and repainted. The interior has then been lined with butyl-based sound deadening mats to help keep noise and vibration down. This is all covered by new loop carpet. The front doors have new door panels, . The rear door panels and front dash pad are original and could use some attention. Currently this Skylark has a column shifter to control the automatic transmission. I have acquireda hard-to-find center console for future conversion to a floor shifter. The rear passenger seat is equipped with modern 3-point (shoulder and lap) seat belts. The same seat belts will be included for the front seats (not currently installed).
This is a 100% California car and I have photos of what it looked like before it was restored.
