Description:
1928 Buick Master 6 Sedan
I am only the fourth owner of this vehicle. It was purchased new in 1928 and original owner used it in his hardware business in New York State, Vehicle still has Original New York plates on it, I purchased it to restore 4 years ago from Heir, and it has been kept indoors the entire time I have had it. Engine was started before I purchased it, but has not been started since. At the original owner's death this vehicle passed to his heirs and was moved to Georgia, where I purchased it from his nephew. On rear of vehicle black paint is fading, and you can see "ghost" lettering which was painted on OEM paint, of the New York Hardware store advertising beneath the faded black paint..
Obviously from the condition of this vehicle it has never been stored outdoors in the weather or in harsh conditions due to it only having very minor rusting, and also from the condition of the wooden wheels, and the wooden body structure which is very sound.
The wooden Artillery wheels are very solid, with no rotting or deterioration other than the finish. All 4 wheels are good and in completely restorable condition, as is the 5th spare wheel. The old tires are still inflated, but very old and cracked and must be replaced. This vehicle will make an outstanding vintage restoration project, without having to search high and low for many missing parts. Original headlights, tail lights, radiator, bumpers, and all mechanical parts are present and in good shape on the vehicle. The doors open, shut, and fit nicely. Hood opens and closes perfectly as well as latches well.
The last owner had had the front and rear seats re-covered, as well as door panels, headliner, and also vinyl exterior covered top replaced, however would this might need to be replaced again in a complete vintage restoration.
I have a valid clean Georgia Title for it.
As a reminiscent of the Roaring 20's, there is an actual bullet hole completely thru the back glass about 1/2" in diameter. It is very neat pierced hole, with no other cracking or damage of rest of the plate glass. I had considering leaving this hole there in restoration. Not much is known about how the bullet hole got there, but previous owner was told the bullet went thru back glass, thru the car, and exited thru the front glass shattering it and it had to be replaced. All the glass is in good condition, except the hole thru the back glass.
I purchased this car to restore myself I but have several other restoration projects I am working on, and I have decided to sell it.
