If you are not driving a Buick, why not? This is the most affordable Classic Car with a potentV-8, the Buick 350 cu. in. that is a smooth & easy driver. The Skylark delivers more luxury, more comfort, and just as much performance as a Chevelle,all for thousands less! Look around and I doubt you'll find a cleaner & more affordable A-Body than this for the money!
For a Buick, there's a minimum amount of trim, which was optional, letting the clean, nicely restored body which speaks for itself. No fake GS badging on her. The bumpers are good and fit well with nice chrome. Original color, Cortez Gold Metallic was used for the only repaint. Never any rust, floor pans, trunk, rockers, all very good. Only flaw in the paint is some orange peel on the hood, which can be wet sanded smooth but I just haven't had the time. She still places well in Car Shows.
The interior is all original white vinyl interior with bench seats and center arm rest which makes it a comfortable, inviting driving environment. No tears in original seats. Original Sonomatic am radio which works great so no need for aftermarket receiver. If you want a 100% Showcar I would recommend redye door panels/ misc. plastic due to discoloration as seen in pictures.
The convertible vinyl roof was replaced less than 2 years ago and the motor for the roof works excellent. (There is a leaf in picture on right rear of roof not a stain or mark as you may think by pic.) There are no water leaks whatsoever. The rear window is very good as is all other glass with no scratches or cracks. The convertible boot is very good, original slip-on attachments and not snaps which stretch and tear fabric.
Mechanically very good motor, transmission, rear, brakes and more. All electric items such as radio, wipers, heater, lights, turn signals, etc. work properly. The a/c does need a charge but with roof down who cares...? Everything original and not butchered.
The original wheels were replaced with 245x45x17" Mickey Thompson Tires & 17"x7" American Racing Wheels. I have the original 14" factory wheels with 215x75x14" tires (50 miles on tires) & Original Buick wire wheel hubcaps should you want the original wheels swapped out. Your choice of wheels...Full price gets both sets of wheels.
Taken to cruise-ins and shows while in our possession. This has been my wife's "driver" and we have enjoyed her with the grand kids... so if you are looking for a 100% Concourse Showcar please look elsewhere as she is not a trailer queen. She is driven & enjoyed. I have described the Skylark as she is with faults mentioned. I am selling her as wife now wants an '81-82 Seville, go figure... I have a '55 Studebaker Commander & '51 Studebaker truck which I decided to keep and sell our Buick.
