1983 Buick Riviera XX Anniversary Package

Complete, beautifully running and driving vehicle that has been cursed with rust from living its life in Chicagoland. This anniversary model was the Indy Pace Car for 1983. Has special 140 mph speedometer. The touring T-type suspension makes it handle like it's on rails. Sway bar bushings have been replaced and heavy duty KYB shocks installed. Rebuilt carburetormakes the engine run smooth as silk, extremely responsive and starts in any weather. I have ONLY used mobil-1 synthetic oil. Engine does not use any oil or produce any smoke. Has a new air conditioning compressor converted to R134a. I have owned this car over 12 years and have replaced many engine compartment components. Headliner replaced--no sagging. Installed high-end speakers (factory radio/casette). Power antennae works, as well as all powers options--windows, doors, seats, cruise ALL WORK. Transmission shifts fine.It has NO collision damage.
The interior is the best part. Inside, the pigskin suede and glove-soft leather are still in decent condition. Driver seat shows wear, including one small crack on side. Seating surfaces are in tact and nice. Dash board and trim are real wood and door panels are covered in real leather. Carpet is in very good condition. Special XX trunk trim and carpet is gorgeous and in excellent condition.
The down side is the rust. Bottom moldings have come off and there are a few rust-through holes present around the wheel wells. The gas tank has a leak at the seam and leaks when filled past half full (about 10 gallons). The windshield seal has deteriorated, resulting in leaks. Plastic bumper fillers have cracked and fallen off, as is common with all rivieras of this era. Tires are showing wear and should probably be replaced soon. The real wire wheels are also rusty, but do not leak any air.
Overall, the car runs strong, but cosmetically leaves a bit to be desired.
