1972 Buick Skylark CUSTOM

This is one of the coolest cars in the Northern Virgina area. It is a local Legend!!! The hood is a steel factory GS hood with hood tach. Ram Air air cleaner and water neck mounting bracket. I do not have the plates that mount underneath the hood that the foam seals mate up to. The rear wing is from a GSX. The very rare N-25 rear bumper and tips installed and I have the original tip mounting brackets ....best GM bumper ever made.Rare GS front grille. 5 Buick 15x7 Magnum 500 wheels. Factory buckets and console and bucket steering column were added. Sport steering wheel. Map light rear view mirror cool option. This car was originally light poly blue with white interior white top. It started its life as a Skylark Custom. I have a portion of the build sheet found ontop of the fuel tank. The car is going to need full cosmetics. I know the full history of this car. It was built around 1995 by a friend of mine who purchased it from the original owner. I saw the car in stock form poly blue right before he started the transformation. The guy who built this is a great mechanic and his best friend who painted the car is one of the best custom painters ever!! In a matter of a few months it was beautiful new engine trans flow master exhaust full new interior, n25, GS hoo, buckets console, wheels tires. He worked at a radiator shop so a/c fully functioning. Rechromed bumpers etc. The paint job was unreal. new top, suspension I mean it looked brand new. He drove it for a short time then sold it to another one of our friends for 4500.00..... a fully redone car 4500.00 man those were the days!!!!! My friend drove it for 5 years not in the winters though we all had beaters for winter driving. Then the trans went out on him in 1999 when he was in North Carolina visiting. He towed it home to Va. and parked it at his girlfriends house under a carport. He got down on his luck and sold it to the girlfriend 10/21/ 2000. She had the trans rebuilt and drove it a some but she really could not keep it tuned or running properly.She did not understand about winter storage or the loose unfused wire connected directly to the battery in the trunk hidden behind the spare tire from a previous stereo amplifier that was shorting out the alternator all the time. She would have the alternator replaced then it would short out. Lucky the car did not burn to the ground. Three or four alternators later the car just sat. She moved got a two car garage house put the car in there and it sat. I saw the car on craigslist in 2010 recognized it and Purchased it not running. I had it running a few days later after fresh fluids, battery new alternator and amp wire removed!!I I have put a lot of time and hard work and 8000.00 in parts with receipts into this Badazz Buick. I have all the receipts. The list is very long.

TRANS OIL PAN HAS A FACTORY DRAIN PLUG. THIS SUMMER I DID A FULL TRANS FLUID CHANGE WITH CASTROL GTX DEXRON AND NEW APT RUBBER PAN GASKET AND FILTER . I WAS WONDERING WHY THE TRANS WENT OUT IN 1999. IT WAS NOT FROM RACINIG OR HARD USE. I DISCOVERD WHEN I INSTALLED A TRANS TEMP GUAGE. THE FLUID WAS GETTING TO HOT IN THE SUMMER FROM THE TRANS LINES RUNNING TO CLOSE TO THE PASSENGER EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND ONLY USEING THE RADIATOR COOLER. ONCE I MOVED THE TRANS LINES AND INSTALLED THE BM COOLER TRANS FLUID STAYS AT 150 ALL THE TIME.

ENGINE 1970 BUICK 350 SOURCED FROM FRIEND OF BUILDER RUMPITY CAM 12 INCHES OF VACUUM AT IDLE. THE ORIGINAL ENGINE WAS NOT USED BECAUSE THE 1970 HAD BETTER HEADS. NO ONE WAS THINKING TO KEEP THE ORIGINAL 350 BACK THEN.REBUILT WHEN CAR WAS CLONED 40K ON IT. WHEN I REMOVED THE INTAKE IT IS SPOTLESS INSIDE THE ENGINE NO SLUDGE. DOES NOT SMOKE. GREAT COMPRESSION. 25PSI OIL PRESSURE AT IDLE.
I WAS GOING THRU MY PAPERS AND THE TITLE. MY TITLE SAYS MILEAGE 185K I AM NOT SURE WHAT HAPPENED THERE BUT THIS CAR HAS 140K ON IT I AM SURE OF THAT. I CHECKED THE SPEEDO LAST NIGHT AND IT SAYS 40K AND I KNOW ITS THE ORIGINAL SPEEDO. I SPENT ALOT OF TIME IN THIS CAR BACK IN THE DAY. NO WAY THIS CAR HAS 240K. I KNOW WHEN THE BUILDER BOUGHT IT MILEAGE WAS HIGH 90K. WHEN SOLD MY OTHER FRIEND DROVE IT FOR 5 YEARS GOOD WEATHER. WHEN SOLD TO GIRLFRIEND SHE COULD NOT KEEP IT RUNNING SO HER MILEAGE WAS VERY LOW. I THINK WHEN I WAS TITLING IT THERE WAS NO MILEAGE FILLED OUT AND I JUST GUESED. DMV IS NOT FUN JUST WANTED TO GET OUT OF THERE LOL. NOT REALLY SURE IF IT WAS ME OR PREVIOUS OWNER WHO MESSED UP THE MILEAGE ON THE TITLE.

RARE POSTON ALUMINUM INTAKE MANIFOLD, EDELBROCK 600 ELECTRIC CHOKE CARB REBUILT, BRAIDED FUEL LINE WITH EDELBROCK ENDURA ENDS AND EDELBROCK FUEL FILTER, LIQUID FILLED FUEL PRESSURE GAUGE, NEW FUEL PUMP, MALLORY ELECTRONIC DISTRIBUTOR,MALLORY COIL, MALLORY CIRCUIT GUARD FILTER, CUSTOM MADE MSD SUPER CONDUCTOR 8.5MM SPARKPLUG WIRES 50 OHMS PER FOOT, T/A PERFORMANCE OIL PUMP BOOSTER PLATE WAS ALREADY INSTALLED ON THE OIL PUMP WHEN ENGINE REBUILT. I INSTALLED T/A PERFORMANCE ADJUSTABLE OIL PUMP BYPASS VALVE TO REGULATE OIL PRESSURE. I ONLY USE KN OIL FILTERS AND VALVOLINE VR1 HIGH ZINC OIL IN ALL MY OLDER CARS.

THE TOP PUMP WAS REPLACED WHEN THE CAR WAS CLONED AND WORKS GREAT, I REPLACED THE TOP HYDRAULIC CYLINDERS 285$ AND NEW LINES 100$ ALL NEW FLUID AND NEW CONVERTIBLE TOP SWITCH 125$. ALSO WHEN THE CAR WAS CLONED THE TOP FRAME WAS STRIPPED AND PAINTED SO IT LOOKS NICE NOT ALL RUSTY LIKE MOST.NEW DOOR LOCKS TRUNK LOCK AND IGNITION CYLINDER 100$
NEW AUTO METER GUAGES.... MECHANICAL WATER TEMP, ELECTRIC OIL PRESSURE. ELECTRIC TRANS TEMP, VOLTS, AND VACUUM ALL IN CHROME PODS. ALL LIGHT UP FOR NIGHT DRIVING. THE IDIOT LIGHTS STILL WORK I LIKE TO HAVE BOTH. 425$
I HAVE A 1970 LARGE BORE RAM AIR AIRCLEANER I WAS DOING SOME MODS TO IT TO OPEN IT UP FOR BETTER FLOW. I REMOVED THE VACUUM PODS AND WELDED THE HOLES SHUT. I BEAD BLASTED IT. IT IS IN PRIMER RIGHT NOW. THE FRONT PART HAS BEEN CLEARED AND LOOKS GREAT. I WAS GOING TO DO SOME MODS TO THE HOOD SCOOPS ALSO TO OPEN THEM UP FOR BETTER FLOW BUT HAVE NOT GOTTEN TO IT. I HAVE THE HOOD SCOOP OUTER RINGS AND CHROME SCOOP INSERTS.I HAVE A COMPLETE NEW BODY MOUNT BUSHING KIT FOR IT. 160$
THE CAR HAD QUARTERS PUT ON IT WHEN IT WAS CLONED AND DOOR SKINS. THERE IS A LITTLE RUST IN THEM VERY LITTLE AS SEEN IN PICS VERY MINOR. THE CORE SUPPORT WILL NEED A LITTLE WORK THEY ALL DO OR A NEW ONE FROM AMD. THE FLOORS WILL NEED SOME PATCHING. THEY ARE SOLID ONLY SMALL PATCHES NEEDED. ONE OF THE BODY MOUNTS NEEDS A LITTLE WORK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IN THE FRONT. STILL HAS ITS ORIGINAL TRUNK PAN VERY SOLID. THIS IS NOT A RUST BUCKET LIKE MOST ARE.
