1972 Buick GS Clone

The Buick Gran Sport of the '70s held quite a unique position for their manufacturer, reigning as the most extensively equipped performance models in the entire GM family. With its aggressive form decked out in an appropriate high impact shade, this 1972 Buick GS Clone looks like it means business even from a distance ... and it certainly does. After beginning life as an already very capable Buick Skylark, it's been thoroughly transformed into a fine representative of that pivotal line of cars and holds the promise of inspired vintage motoring for its next lucky owner. This evolution process of this '72 concluded with draping black paint over its exterior for maximum visual impact and with the styling cues it displays, it's a fine pairing. The paint accomplishes its intended magnetic effect and represents its shade well with a nice shine and only small blemishes from being driven. While hood scoops weren't rare during its era, the dual configuration sitting on top of this classic's hood really does give it a distinct look. Up front, the intricate grille sits level and sports an accurate GS emblem that - like the other badging on all four sides of the car - presents well. From all appearances, this is a very solid, road-ready classic and its body panels blend together nicely and clear glass surrounds the cabin, accompanied by fresh-looking rubber seals to keep the elements from intruding. A dominant rear spoiler sits on the deck lid to add even more '70s mojo. The white vinyl interior is in overall strong shape and as you climb inside, it surrounds you with just the classic feel you'd want in a car of this era. The front and rear bench seats have both held their original shape well and offer plenty of padding for comfort. Take a look above you and you'll see that the headliner is in great shape and fits nice and snug. The dash area retains its factory configuration and the gauges inside its cluster are easily readable and function as intended, while above them, the dash pad running the width of the interior is table-straight and shows no evidence of cracking. It is equipped with air conditioning though it does need servicing to be in top form and the trunk area is straight and solid, with a full-size spare on hand - just in case. The sizable 455 cubic inch V8 sitting in the engine compartment is not only another fitting nod to the Gran Sports of the early '70s, but it also offers more than 100 cubic inches of displacement over the original powerplant and has been equipped with a proper Gran Sport intake, a Holley 4-barrel carb under its chrome Edelbrock air cleaner and a performance cam to maximize its output. The big block fires up promptly and runs strong, teaming with a 3-speed automatic transmission to form a drivetrain that's configured for plenty of performance but won't make you dread stop and go traffic. Power steering and power front disc brakes make navigating and stopping this classic easy as it cruises on its 14" stock Buick wheels wrapped with GLS Futura Super Sport tires. Offering the looks and power that made Buick's GS line of cars so coveted decades ago, this 1972 Buick GS Clone is a "must- see." Call today.
