Description:

1965 Buick Skylark

You are bidding on TWO 1965 Buick Special/Skylark Convertibles. Winter is coming and you need a project. This pair may represent several winters.... Both of these cars need a lot of work. These are not single weekend projects, however, for the skilled person skilled they can be done well (results can look like the last picture of the yellow car, which is not for sale). If you are not skilled you will be by the time you finish these.

Convertible # 1 is a mostly complete car. It is a V6 with factory power brakes, power steering, and air conditioning. It has an automatic transmission. I do not know the condition of the drive train so expect the worst. The body is very straight and the rockers and fender bottoms are remarkably intact, however, the floors should be repaired or replaced. For this I will include a brand-new complete floor pan that I purchased from OPGI specifically for this car (part # CH27781 with a current sale price of about $890). I do have the hood for this car and it will be installed when the car is purchased. The convertible top material is gone but the frame is in decent shape. The seats are actually quite presentable. This car is a Special but eBay does not have a Buick "Special" category for the convertible.

Convertible #2 is either a very challenging project or a parts car. There is no engine or transmission. The interior is gutted although the back seat is intact and in not too bad a condition. The body is relatively straight but there are rusty sections. The last owner started to weld in floor and trunk panels but 1) the task was not completed and 2) the quality of the installation was not very good (but it is reversible). Just the same, the new panels are somewhat in place. It is a '65 even though it has a '64 bumper on it.

Both cars can be flat towed but I recommend that the buyer bring a set of tires if the cars are to be transported in this manner.

The cars will be provided with their last current titles. However, since this sale is occurring in NY, titles are not necessary for cars prior to 1973. Bills of sale will be provided.

The cars are located about 50 miles due north of Albany, NY.

Thank you for bidding.
