1978 Buick LeSabre

Up for sale is a 1978 Buick LeSabre 2 door coupe with 39k miles showing on the odometer. its original Pontiac 301 CI 2 bbl V8 and 3 speed TH350 automatic transmission. I can't verify that miles are right, but the interior has no wear, doors don't sag, the engine has most of its blue paint including the oil pan, and the seal around the doors (common wear on these cars) is nearly perfect. Runs and drives well - no overheating, shifts great - and I've tooled around town in it several times, but drive long distance at your own risk.

Condition Report
ENGINE: Runs on all eight cylinders without smoking, missing or knocking. Engine runs at proper temperature. Newer battery & good charging system. Newer belts all around. New fuel pump. Runs strong. I'm having the carb rebuilt while this ad is running so if you buy it before Wednesday, that won't be done yet.
TRANSMISSION: Performs beautifully. Engages gears quickly and shifts through all forward gears and reverse with good downshift and torque converter performance. Clean fluid with no burn odors.
EXTERIOR: Body: Body is exceptionally straight and solid. Very straight down the sides with NO rust-through though there are a few brown spots starting to show through the paint in a couple spots as pictured. Way above average body. Paint: Paint is very nice for age but it is starting to show its age. Except for the right rear quarterpanel, which is an old repaint, the rest of the car has original paint. Other: Chrome bumpers are straight, shiny, rust-free, and have all the rub strips. Windshield has no cracks or chips. Urethane bumper extensions are deteriorated (rear worse than front.) Undercarriage is extremely solid with only minor surface rust like you'd expect of a southern car - see the pics. Underhood sheet metal and trunk sill and door jambs (areas where these cars tend to rust) are also nice as seen in pics. Hubcaps are in good shape.
INTERIOR: Interior of the car is in very nice shape consistent with low miles. Dash has no cracks and is still shiny. Seating areas are in great shape. Springs in the seat are firm, not sagging. Carpet in seating area is original and in very nice shape with clearly defined loops. Headliner is perfect. Package deck is in great shape. Steering wheel is perfect with no wear. No smoke or pet odors. Very nice interior overall. Trunk is clean. Comes with a 1978 Buick factory service manual.
ELECTRICAL STUFF: All inspection items work (lights, horn, wipers, etc.) Has hot heat and cold A/C,am/fm stereo, power windows, power locks, clock, rear defrost, and cruise control. The cruise disengages after a couple minutes but the more I use it, the longer it lasts, so it might work with regular use. The air blows out the vents on the right side, but on the floor on the driver's side, but does blow hot/cold as needed. Everything else listed here works like it's supposed to.
DRIVEABILITY: Drives out very nicely as you'd expect of low miles. Alignment is dead on, suspension is tight; steering is tight. Brakes work well with good linings all around. Tires are two matched pairs of good quality radials with about 40% tread remaining front, 70% remaining rear. Exhaust manifolds and pipes and muffler are solid, but has a leak at the catalytic converter. Older car with no major issues - I would be comfortable driving a long distance but you might not - use your judgement.
