1982 Buick Grand National Grand National
1982 Buick Grand National!Extremely Rare ONLY 215 Built as a Test Market Car!Up for sale is my baby. It is an extremely rare 1982 Buick Grand National. Yes, you have read this auction correctly this is an 1982 Buick Grand National. It is the ONLY NON Black Grand National. This car was repainted to exact spects by the best car painter in the country. This paint is the way they came from the factory. These are so rare many Buick Grand National Owners have never heard of one NO less seen one in person. If you want to stand out at ANY car show this is the car for you. Buick ONLY made 215 of them as a test for the market. Obviously it was popular as they made them from 1984 though 1987 after this car! This was the philosophy of my restoration for this car. I tried to put it back to the original or as close to original condition possible and still be drive able and reliable. The Original Engine Black and Transmission housing was kept original. The engine and transmission was totally rebuilt by a very well known race car builder. No expense was spared. I spend $7000+ probably much more as I have not added up all the little piece that were restored. This car starts strong and Drives Like a Dream. It is NOT fast. It does not have a turbo and has a small engine. But, it sounds great and looks amazing. I had to replace the Manifold and Carbs. Both were custom fitted. I also added a larger Radiator with fans to keep the car running cool. This car will drive forever if taken care of and oil Changed regularly. The exterior was totally stripped and repainted. Any areas that had any imperfections were fixed and all body work and paint was done by who I consider to be the best in the country. He does work almost exclusively on Ferraris. He is a personal friend and worked on my car as a favor. The car is straight and perfect paint job. The Clear Coat is the kind you would see on Ferraris. It took him months to do. He is a perfectionist. All pieces of trim were removed and the car was prepped properly. It is a $20,000 paint job that he worked with me on price if he could do it as he had free time. It took 6 months. But, man did he get it right. It really does have a better paint job than any Ferrari I have had. The stencils on the original were stickers. I found the original Company that made those stickers and ordered them. We use them as a template for painting the Buick on the sides and back of the car. They are in the right position but will never peel off like the original sticker! Most of the trim was replace and what was not replace was restored! The interior was tricky. I replaced both door panels and all carpets and cloth including the headliner with brand New Old stock replacements. There are a few cracks on the plastic roof trim. I just had not had a chance to replace but they are easily replaceable. The T-Tops are in excellent shape and there are NO Cracks or chips. I have the original holders for the trunk when you take them off. The dash is not perfect but everything that was broken was replaced. And everything looks very good and original. I am being overly critical. But I am a perfectionist. This Grand National Insert in the Speedo area is original and UN REPLACEABLE! So you will never see another one. It is really a cool and unique feature of this car. Back to the interior. VERY important. The Black inserts in the seats are ORIGINAL! I just the original Lear Seigler Inserts that came with the car. These are also UN REPLACEABLE. They are in very Good original Condition with no rips. They retain the ordinalembroideredGrand National Logo! These are almost never seen! But all of the cloth and piping was replaced and the foam was all restored! The radio work and so does the power antenna. They Windows work and everything works that is supposed to. The bottom of the car was totally restored and repainted to protect from the weather. Including the weather sealer. The exhaust was totally custom made and sounds loud and amazing. There is absolutelyno rust anywhere. I am a perfectionist. Please note this is 35 years old. There are some minor things inside that is not perfect. But, this is the finest looking and driving 1982 Buick Grand National that you will every see. I am selling it for a fraction of what I put into it. I need room and the wife wants it gone. It is my baby and I hope that someone will love it as much as I have. That is why I will willing to let it go for what is a fraction of what it cost me. I have a large folder with paperwork and records. I also have a car cover with the car. The car has always been garaged since the restoration.
PLEASE NOTE: I do have the original NOS hub caps on the car. The are not in the picture. But they are on the car when you get it. ALSO the Trunk liner and engine liner was replace and looks amazing!
I believethis car has a huge potential for appreciation. This is an extremelyrare opportunity to own a car that only 215 were made and a very small fraction of them still exist today. If you have any questions please let me know. Thank you for looking at my auction.
