Description:

1990 Buick Estate Wagon

Up for auction is a beautiful 1990 Buick Estate Wagon. This car is loaded with every available option except the upgraded radio with graphic equalizer (with 28 year old speakers does that really matter)? Otherwise it has it all including the rare $450 saddle leather interior, towing package option code V92, touch climate control, lamp monitors, cornering lamps, dual power seats, illuminated entry and much more! Best yet, everything still works except the auto rear level control and the power antenna. There is an aftermarket leveling system installed that you can manually pump the rear of the car up, the valve stem is behind the license plate. The previous owner even had the correct set of locking wire wheel covers with steel rims on the car when I bought it that he took off another Estate Wagon he owned at one time. I put the styled aluminum rims back on because I like them better, but I will include the wheel covers with all 4 center caps and 15 inch rims with the car.

This vehicle currently has just over 66,000 miles on the clock (it will go up slightly as I will keep driving the car some). I purchased it last May with just under 60K from the original owner's elderly nephew. The original owner was a wealthy elderly widow with no children. Her nephew bought the car from her in 2009 with about 55K on it according to the previous title. I have put about 6K on it in the last year and the car drives and rides great. In the time I have owned it I had the belts changed shortly after buying it, had an O2 sensor replaced at that time, and replaced the heater core about 2 months ago. The previous owner told me it had recently gotten new brakes, spark plugs, and the air conditioning was converted to R134a before I purchased it but he did not provide any receipts or service records with the car. The tires have about 50% tread left and are date coded 2001. They are not dry rotted at all and are still in great shape. The previous Owner told me the car was originally from Kentucky and was never driven in snow by either him or his aunt. I also stored it during the winter and did not drive it at all. I even try not to drive it in the rain! The car has virtually no rust anywhere and the underside is extremely clean. My mechanic couldn't believe how nice it was.

Looking at the exterior of the car it is clear it has been well cared for and always garage kept. Considering it is 28 years old there are a few dings and nicks here and there but they are minimal. I tried to picture everything that sticks out. Both front bumper fillers need to be replaced as they have gotten brittle and started to crack and break apart. I replaced all 3 rear ones with the very hard to find NOS GM fillers but didn't get around to changing the front ones. You can readily find them aftermarket in both plastic or fiber glass for around $150-200 for the pair. The OEM urethane ones are next to impossible to find anymore. The headliner is also sagging and will eventually need to be changed. I am 5'10” and it is not hitting my head at this point. There is also an oil leak, I have to add about 1 quart for every 1,000 miles and just make sure to put a large piece of cardboard under it in the garage. If you run it on 87 octane it also tends to run on or “diesel” for a few seconds when you shut it off. If you use 89 it does it much less but with the increase in gas prices I just used 87 most of the time. I found if I let it idle for about 10 seconds in Park before shutting it off it tends to help. My mechanic said it is probably from the high percentage of ethanol they use in gas now, the carburetor just wasn't made for that mixture.

As nice as the exterior of the car is, the interior is simply unbelievable! The carpets literally don't have a stain on them. Just look at how clean the driver's door edge is where people usually drag their feet over making it dirty and wearing the carpet, this one is almost perfect! Even the original GM floormats have very little wear! The rare leather interior is also excellent and looks more like a 3 year old car than a 28 year old one. 66K is low for a 1990, but judging by the interior you would guess it was more like sub 30K on the clock! Aside from the headliner there is just nothing to say except you have to see it to believe it! It is literally a time warp and you just know this car never hauled any kiddos. Just look how clean the spare tire well is, virtually no rust except for some very slight surface rust along one seam.

This car truly has to be seen and driven to be fully appreciated! How many could still be left in this original, clean condition with every option? Please ask any questions you may have. I can provide more pictures upon request.
