T-Tops All Original Never Modified 82K Needs Paint
1987 Buick Grand National Grand National
Up for auction is my 1987 Buick Grand National with 82K original miles. The car runs/drives very well (exactly as it should)… smooth, and quick with no issues. The car was owned by a 79 year old woman from March of 1989, until I bought it last year. I titled the car in my name, but copied the previous title to show history. I also located/laminated two broadcast sheets.
Options:
- T-Tops
- Air Conditioning (works/cold)
Power Windows
Power Locks
Tilt Wheel
Cruise Control
AM/FM Stereo Cassette
Concert Sound II (6 speakers)
Power Antenna
Power Trunk Release
Rear window Defroster
The full accessory list is located on the RPO/VIN sticker in the trunk.
The car is completely original, with no modifications. Regular maintenance was done even though it wasn't used for extended periods. Doesn’t leak any fluids when parked (see pics), and still has its original exhaust system… which (incredibly) is still good. Many of the parts I replaced were factory originals.
Recent maintenance:
Complete tune up using A/C Delco parts
Fluids changed (oil, coolant, transmission, power steering, brake fluid, posi gear lube)
New alternator
New silicone hose kit (radiator, and turbo)
Replaced vacuum lines that were dried out
New Gates serpentine belt
New Monroe springs front/rear
New Monroe shocks front/rear
New Moog front suspension bushing kit
New BF Goodrich Comp TA tires (correct size 215/65/R15)
Wheel alignment
New radiator (previous owner)
Front/rear brakes, and master cylinder (previous owner)
New (fiberglass) bumper fillers both front/rear
The car is 100% rust free... and has never been in an accident (clean Carfax). It obviously needs paint, weather stripping, and cosmetics. The bottom of the hood, trunk, and doors are all clean. All factory painted surfaces underneath the car will need new paint (suspension, rear differential, etc.)… all have surface rust. The interior shows well… seats, carpet, and head-liner are all good. Driver’s upper door panel shows the most wear, and both Turbo 6 head rest logos are faded.
The following items will need attention:
- Tach is in-op which is common after 30 years…
http://www.casperselectronics.com/cart/index.php?route=product/product&path=7_53_54_10_17&product_id=120
- T-tops leak slightly as 30 year old weather-stripping deteriorates
- Power antenna needs attention (goes up, stops half way down)
- Fuel gauge not reading accurate
- Low Fuel light stays on
- Cruise control is in-op
- Speaker panel on the dash is cracked
- Missing the factory jack
Missing both GM T-top storage bags

Ican store the car safely fortwo weeks, however the car must be picked up after that. Buyer is responsible for all shipping charges. The California title is clear, and in my name. The vehicle recently passed California emissions (smog) testing without any issues.
If you are not sure about something, please ask (do not assume anything). This car is 30 years old… and most Grand Nationals need attention at some point over the years. This one is priced to reflect that. The car is located in Livermore, (Northern) California zip 94550.
