What makes this Grand National special is that 1987 was the LAST year of production for this beast, and it featured most powerful 3.8L Turbocharged engine. Its Black paint shines beautifully and Powerful turbocharged engine with only 60,000 miles purrs and runs strong as ever.

This beauty was just inspected and appraised at $25,000!!!

The Buick Regal Grand National debuted in ‘82 and was named after the NASCAR Winston Cup Grand National Series. Buick had won the Manufacturers Cup in 1981 and 1982, and wanted to capitalize on its success based on "What wins on Sunday, sells on Monday". The Grand National was a Buick success and the 1987 model was the final model of this generation.

Buick started with a few basicideas for the styling and performance of the Grand National. Styling was the squared off straight lines of that era. Buick modifications were minimal; a subtle rear spoiler, “power bulge” in the hood, and a black plastic front air dam to keep the car trimmed out at high speeds. The GN definitely looked “bad to the bone” in Black with black out trim – a very dark and sinister look!

The interior was finished in a combination of black and gray tones in special cloth fabrics. The instrumentation was basic but at least Buick understood the need to add a tach and a boost gauge. Naturally the ride was improved with the suspension having stiffer springs and anti-roll bars, plus large radials on special wheels.

For power, Buick recognized that the big-block days were over and, after resurrecting its original V-6 from the 1960s, Buick went the turbo route and later in 1986 came an air-to-air intercooler. By 1987 there were 245 horses running wild under the hood.For identification theorange and red “Six with an Arrow” logo artistically reflects the shape of a turbocharger and is tastefully placed on the exterior, centers of the Chrome Wheels and on the Headrests.1986 and 1987 models received also an “intercooled” badge under Grand National insignia.

The stealthy appearance of the all-black Grand National (and the resemblance of its grill to his helmet's mouthpiece), coupled with the fact that the Grand National was initially released during the popularity ofStar Warsmovies, earned it the title "Darth Vader's Car".Car and Drivercovered the GNX model's introduction with the headline "Lord Vader, your car is ready." Due to the six cylinder engine, the Buick make, and the black paint Grand Nationals were sometimes referred to as the "Dark Side". The "Dark Side" contrasted with the more common V8 Mustangs and Camaro’s that were popular at the time, and were instantly recognized as the ultimate muscle cars, but Grand National was a new sheriff in town, definitively shaking the things up in the muscle car world!

Exterior:

Its super smooth and glassy Black paint has a superb shine and luster, and it looks like the day it left the showroom floor!! Combined with its original Black and Gray interior this particular Grand National just looks stunning!!!

All trim is in excellent condition, it is complete and new looking, and this beauty is a head turner and conversation piece everywhere it goes. You will HAVE to get used to the amount of attention that you will be getting in this car, as there is not a lot of Grand Nationals roaming the streets of America!!

This Buick is very solid and most importantly RUST FREE (please see pictures!!!).Body is in wonderful condition and it is straight as an arrow! All doors, hood, and trunk are operating with ease and everything lines up properly. It was never in an accident, and it has been always garaged in air conditioned garage, pampered and kept away from rain and bad weather, and it truly shows!! It was only driven and enjoyed on sunny and beautiful days! Undercarriage is all original and unmolested!

There is not a lot of Grand Nationals out there in this solid and amazingly kept and preserved condition!!

Lets face it – these are FAST CARS!! People buy them to go fast, take them to the drag strip on the weekends, and show off its power and ability of a V6 turbocharged engine. Lots of the Grand Nationals out there show the “battle scars” on them!! But NOT this beauty!! This Grand National looks and smells like the day it left the showroom floor!!!

Like they say “Originality is king when it comes to classic cars”!! Not only does finding a 30ish year old car that has not been altered by numerous past owners add to your enjoyment of the car; the more original features that you can substantiate the better when it comes time to sell your treasure!!!

Original Black and Gray interior is in excellent condition! When you open the doors you are greeted by the “New Car Smell” - even after 30 years!! Carpet is clean and in excellent shape! Seats are in excellent condition as well, and are very supportive and comfortable. Headliner is clean, including the dash which looks like the day it rolled off the showroom floor!!

This Buick comes with power windows, and they are working as they should! Even Original Radio is still present and in working condition!!

Just take a look at the pictures, and you will get an idea about the condition of this car, how nicely it is kept, and how beautiful it is. It really does not get any better than this!

-Engine & Transmission

3.8 Liter V6 Turbocharged Engine is strong and powerful as ever with only 60,000 miles on the odometer. It has no problems reaching 80MPH+ in an instant, and it is real blast to drive!!!

It is tastefully upgraded with a bigger turbo, and bigger exhaust, but original turbo is retained and included with the car. It also has upgraded GNX rear differential cover for better cooling!

A/C works great and cold! Previous owner disconnected the heater core, as the car was only driven on warm and sunny days, and rest of the time it was sleeping in the air conditioned garage, so he didn’t want heater core to be ruined from sitting, as he wanted to preserve as much of original parts on this car as possible.

Automatic Transmission shifts effortlessly through every gear! This beast handles great at the high speeds, and it is very comfortable.

It comes with its original books and manuals. It still has its first owner’s information, as well as the first delivery date and the mileage!
