Description:
1972 Buick Skylark Coupe
This car doesn't need anything you could use it as your daily driver if you wanted to. My Skylark stays in the garage but it used to come out on sunny days. As of late it has not been driven because I'm out riding my motorcycle. The wife says the Harley and Skylark take up too much space in the garage and she's tired of walking around it. I'm not going to keep the Skylark outside not even with its fitted car cover (which stays on it even in the garage). I'm not selling my Harley because the wife won't let me get another one (too dangerous blah blah blah). The Skylark started life in Fremont, it was Originally a 2bbl but has been upgraded to a 4bbl by way of TA Performance Aluminum Manifold, a custom built to the vehicle specifications 4bbl Quadrajet (built by Mark at QuadrajetPower). Buick motors prefer a Quadrajet over a Holly or Edelbrock any day.TA Performance Headers, New Dual Exhaust with New Dynomax mufflers.Lectriclimited Breakerless SE ignition (keeps the original 1 wire look).New Air Conditioning Compressor and was converted over to 134a using new conversion parts.New rubber moldings,New Bill Stein Shocks front and rear,New Interstate battery,New Carpeting,New Driver seat skin (from Original Part Group),Paint is still nice and shiny,New rear main seal (upgraded to a Neoprene gasket no more greased rope gasket),New rotor, cap & plugs, Car comes equipped with front disc brakes,Since this is a California car and has never left the state there is no cancer spots (rust).
Odometer reads 48,000 miles, Insulation under car shows little road weathering, previous owner said he believed it to be original miles. Before the Rear Main seal was replaced a compression test was performed by Just Joe's in Concord, it made sense to check compression since the transmission was going to be removed to replace the rear main seal. Compression test showed good compression in all cylinders so rebuild was not necessary.
I've probably forgotten money I've spent on replacing worn or broken items but I will revise this listing when I remember. I will include all receipts for parts I've purchased and the work performed. The 24th Picture shows the Original Data sheet found under the drivers seat put there by an assembly worker working at the Fremont California Plant back in 1972.
I saved the original parts that were replaced with performance upgrades (2bbl Steel manifold, 2bbl carb, stock exhaust manifolds, smog items, etc).I will include some chrome moldings the previous owner opted to leave off the car after painting. I didn't mount the chrome because I agreed with previous owner, car looks better without them. The Chrome bits are as follows: Stock chrome side view mirrors, the chrome molding that goes on the rear edge of the hood nearest the windshield, also a small chrome strip (that has me puzzled as to where it goes),chrome for the side rain gutters above the side windows, 4 hub caps and a chrome rear bumper guard that mounts to the center of the rear bumper (I have pictures of the items, just msg me).
No smog required if you are in California, exempt.
Local pickup okay or you can fly to California and drive it home. I will place all original equipment in the truck for shipping. I am retired and can meet shipper any day of the week.
Vehicle is being sold locally, I reserve the right to removed my vehicle from eBay listing.
The pictures should stand for themselves if you need more pictures of certain areas of the car please don't hesitate to ask. Check out the video.
