Health forces sale of very solid, unfinished '56 Buick Special Wagon. These are rare and very cool!I started with nice car that had a broken 322" nailhead and Dynaflow,andreplaced it witha425" nailhead and TH400 tranny, with 9" Ford rear-end and new drive line.Dropped 2 1/2" front spindles. Exhaust is done.New Power brake booster, and I've been through the rest of the brake system. Interior roof is painted with Por15. Have new headliner in box. New door seals and window fuzzies. Still needs re-paint, and interior finished to be nice. Solid floors. Body is very solid with only a couple of small minorrust bubbles near bottom of rear passenger door. Electric wipers.I've had the car running and driving, but tranny wouldn't up-shift. I feel the governor is stuck from sitting, as this is common in TH400 transmissions. Nice stainless trim, and driver quality chrome.I'm guessing I've got over 12K invested as is. Photos are from last year.
