Description:

1987 Buick Grand National

For auction is my 1987 Buick Grand national with T Tops. It has 35k original documented miles and is all original except for a gorgeous respray about 4 years ago, Bilstein shocks, a Walboro fuel pump, an MP3 jack wired into the stock radio (under the ashtray door) and brand spankin new GNX wheels and tires with less than 500 miles on them. I have the original wheels with tires and original shocks. Everything works as it should except for the stock power antenna, the nylon cable is broken and the power to the antenna is unplugged.
My original plan when I bought it was to turn it into an 11 second street machine but it is too nice in my opinion to get that crazy on. I absolutely love this car, get tons of compliments on it and I would keep it but it feels more like a show car than a driver like I am used to, the paint is a 9.5 out of 10 and I'd say the interior is also a 9.5 out of 10. I'd like to enjoy it more but it has not seen rain in many years and I've never checked the weather so much in my life. I am afraid to let it get wet, let it out of my sight or let my kids near it. It stays covered up in my garage until we take it out for an occasional trip to get ice cream or Sunday drive.
I've had many inquiries about this car so I'm adding some of the questions I've had.
Why has such a low mileage car had a respray?
There has NEVER been any rust, rot or body damage of any sort on the car, it was resprayed because Grand nationals left the factory with historically terrible acrylic lacquer paint that had runs, would sometimes fade, peel and crack.
How are the bumper fillers?
The bumper fillers are in perfect shape,as the pictures show.
Do you have the original window sticker?
Yes
Why are you selling it?
As I mentioned above, I bought it to turn into an 11 second street machine but I think it's too nice of a car to modify so heavily. I should've bought one that was already modified with more miles on it if I was going to make so many changes.
Why did you put Bilstien shocks on it?
I changed the shocks because I like to feel the road and like more response and handling above the stock shocks. The stock shocks work perfectly but they are just a bit too soft for my liking. This car is very fast and going that fast while feeling like driving on a cloud didn't feel that great to me. The Bilstiens have about 50 miles them and could easily be sold for $250.
Do the T-tops leak?
I have no idea because I nor the previous owner have ever had it in the rain.
