1970 BUICK RIVIERA GRAN SPORT

I am pleased to offer this historically important 1970 Buick Riviera GS. I have owned this Riviera since 2008 but have rarely driven is so now is time to say goodbye. I would like to pass on what the previous owner had told me at the time I purchased it. “I have been a collector of this year only (1970) for about 16 years and have owned many of these 1970 Riviera’s. I have searched Hemmings from about 1985 along with Old Car News and have Never come across a 70 this loaded with options and GS package. As a member of the Riviera Owners Association since 1992 (ROA #5894) I have not seen many GS cars come up for sale thru the ROA magazine, and when they did they always where light on options. As you can see in the pictures this one has it all including a great color combo. It also has the GS Historical Services docs to back up the options. (Build Sheet) This car was snatched off the road in 1975 by a Buick collector and stored away with many other Buicks. At that time the car had 45000 miles on it, at time of the collectors passing it had 53,000 on it in 2004. I have then driven it to its current mileage of 57K. For those not familiar with the GS you should know that this is the highest HP Riviera ever 455 cu in, 370 hp 510 ft lbs of torque and a 3.42 positraction. This car has the original carb, dist, regulator, alt, plug wires, spiral shocks, T-3 head lights and original spare.” Well you can see that I have barely driven this Riviera as it shows only 56964 miles. Since my ownership I have had it refinished in the original Titian Red with everything else remaining as I purchased it. The pictures tell the story as it is simply breathtaking. It will need odds and ends, some bulbs, A/C service, better tuning to run on current crappy gas etc. but I believe the car to be very reliable. It has an electric pump so starting it after extended storage is not a problem. I welcome questions and inspections which of course should be performed before auction closing. KY bidders will add 6% usage tax and $199 transfer/doc fees. Out of state residents will add $128 to cover title fees, mailing costs, temporary tags, etc. Contact to be made by winning bidder within business 24 hours and a minimum partial payment to be made within 72 hours of auction end. The partial payment is non-refundable, unless we fail to deliver the goods as described. Balance will be due within 7 business days of the close of the auction. Any exceptions to be worked out before the completion of the sale. Auctions ending on a Friday or holiday will be addressed the follow business day. We will be happy to assist the new owner in arranging transportation from our nearby airport, Lexington Bluegrass Field, at no extra charge.
