This car was imported from Germany by the original owner stationed there when in the army years ago. There is a story behind it.

Total Restoration a few years ago in 1998 or so.

And I do mean total, including a $8000 paint job with original BMW color. Plus interior seats recovered with BMW materials imported from Germany. All new headliner,

rubber door seals, and much more. They went overboard with new carb, head, radiator, etc.

Have written appraisal after work completed at $18,750. It has only been driven occasionally for recreation since that restoration. We have owned it since 2005. Miles 170K. It was not flooded during Katrina.

Have all the receipts for the work done since new, too. Interesting stuff to look through, all carefully filed. Professionally maintained by BMW mechanics.

Complete records and history on car. Service manuals and other extras.

Recently replaced all tires, brakes,

stainless brake lines, all components of the emergency brakes, hubs, emergency brake cable, rear bearings, CV transaxle boots. This car is reliable and road trip ready.

The only downside is there is no AC running.

The equivalent USA model is a 733i so parts are still available.

But this unique 1979 728 Euro is the only one we know of in the USA today. It’s a rare bird and especially in this condition. The speedometer is in Kilometers and the dashboard is in German.

It has been pampered by all owners. Can provide previous owners names. The first two owners have passed away, all were acquaintances, but one.

The car is high performance and fun to drive.

This car could make a fine daily driver. We love this car and know it is special. We hope this gets to someone who understands the value and pleasure of driving BMW!
