Conceived in Italy by Renzo Rivolta's Isothermos company, the Isetta found little acceptance in Italy but was received enthusiastically in Germany. The compact two-seat body's most notable feature was the ingenious entry, through the front of the Isetta where the hinged steering column swung open and out of the way with the door. The compact 298ccsingle cylinder air cooled overhead valve engine was derived from, but not shared with, BMW's motorcycles,13hp was delivered through a 4-speed gearbox with chain drive to the live rear axle with its two closely-spaced wheels.
Finished in a stunning pristine red exterior, no dings or paint defects, accompanied by gray interior upholstery, no defects or tears, the car is equipped with a classic folding sunroof and rear luggage rack, all in excellent condition. All mechanicals are in fantastic condition as well; the engine starts up first try and the car tracks and drives wonderfully. This one was built in Germany prior to being imported into the United States, V.I.N is 427245, shown on picture of data plate, eBay doesn't accept non standard V.I.N.s in block, odometer is in K.M., so vehicle has 74000 K.M.s.
