1976 BMW 2002 STOCK TRIM, aftermarket stereo

This 1976 BMW 2002 has a 4 speed transmission, and working factory sunroof, and is called A BODYMAN'S DREAM CAR, thus because we are driving it weekly, as it is quite fun to drive, but its not the prettiest car on the road, yet, it is a piece of history that can be driven without much work to the engine or transmission, in fact, that is the highlight of this BMW, it truly runs and drives well.
AS you can see, the body is quite straight, with no major dents or dings, BUT there are rust pockets all over the car, and the interesting fact about this BMW, is that the FLOOR PAN HAS NO STRUCTURAL RUST, ... the major rust is limited to the outer exterior of the car, because it has been sitting outside without a cover, before I bought it. It was originally owned the last 10-15yrs in the MORGAN HILL area of SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA= which is predominantly a dry area. The pictures should tell you what you need to know on the body itself. == THE REAR GLASS HAS BEEN INSTALLED== it was removed so the buyer can see the rust under the gasket.
The interior has been worked on, i.e. carpets replaced with cheapie aftermarket plush pile, rear seats the same, front seats are a different color but from the same year, and the adjustments do function on the driver seat.
THE ENGINE; runs and drives strong, idles smoothly, no eminent leaks, does smoke abit on hard acceleration, but doesn't seem to burn oil excessively, TRANSMISSION shifts well, with no grinding up or down shifting,
THE ELECTRICAL; lights, blinkers, wipers work, horn stopped working, speedometer, tach, fuel and temp gauge work,
THE DOORS, trunk, windows all work, open and shut fine.
THE TIRES-RIMS; = tires are old, but hold air and we have been driving it around town without any issues, but should be replaced. This BMW actually locks up too, have the keys for the ignition, doors and trunk.
THE BRAKES-SUSPENSION; brakes are ok, and stops the car without issue, suspension is ok, does not do 'the highway hula' but it would be a good idea to change the struts and shocks, with new tires.
THIS IS A DRIVING PROJECT, as you can drive it while working on it. I don't have any history of this BMW, except where it was stored by the OWNER, who wanted to restore it with his son. His son took a turn towards the dark side, and gave in to Toyota.feel free to email or call for more info; land line office calls only; 65o-344-1117 This BMW is located in San Mateo, California, about 10 minutes from the San Francisco Airport. I can help you get it shipped, if you need assistance with this. 3rd party inspections are welcome and encouraged at your expense.
