Description:

1956 BMW Isetta

This rare 1956 Bubble Window BMW Isetta 250 is a Euro model with "Z Molding" imported from Germany. Bubble Window Isettas are highly coveted and are much rarer than sliding window cars, having only been made from approximately April 1955-February 1957.
The original documentation on this Isetta spans over 6 decades back to the late 1950's and is included in the sale. The 62,536 km (38,858 miles) showing on the odometer and are believed to be original.
The previous owner stated that it was repainted in 2015 and the paint job is in good shape overall with some small dents and paint blemishes. It's also mechanically sound and drives nicely, with approximately $3,000 recently spent at the specialty service shop, Theo's Micro Cars, in Costa Mesa, CA.
After picking it up at Theo's, I drove the Isetta 20 miles back home.
Please reach out to Theo for more information on the Isetta. The scope of the work included:
- Carburetor cleaned/rebuilt and re-jetted for sea level
- Compression check (Good compression) and new NGK spark plug
- Replaced charge light indicator bulb
- Repaired electrical system
- Replaced old voltage regulator with a new, Isetta voltage regulator
- Oil Change with 40W SL Motor Oil
- New AGM sealed battery with lid
- Fixed left rear tire, which was leaking air
The previous owner provided me with a list of $1,600 worth of parts that were purchased for the Isetta earlier this year.
