More than a S54 swap, this car has an entire M3 drivetrain including engine, trans, diff, brakes etc..
This E28 has absolutely no rust, having been an Arizona car all its life before being upgraded as follows.116K on chassis and entire drivetrain from a 2002 E46 M3 with less than 90,000 miles.
The intention of this build was to keep as much as possible of the M3, making something that might have been the E28 M5 should the drivetrain technology been available 15 years earlier.To make maintenance easier wherever possible the parts are either E28 or E46, rather than aftermarket.

List of upgrades includes:
S54 engine, rod bearings replaced.E46 M3 420G 6 speed transmission(original manual - not SMG converted).E46 M3 LSD differential in custom subframe.E46 M3 ABS/DSC(MK20), with all sensors to support(ABS wheel sensors, steering angle sensor, yaw sensor etc).E46 M3 front and rear brake disks and calipers(custom adapters)E46 M3 cluster.Standard OBDII port for diagnosing all E46 functionsFunctioning“Sport” and DSC buttons on dash.

All windows / sunroof etc work as expected. The only thing that was disconnected as part of the work is the E28 trip computer.Cruise control is also non functional.
