Description:

1985 BMW 6-Series

Here we have something of a unicorn. This is a 1985 Euro-spec 635 CSi that I purchased as one of a package of three such E24s. The car has Euro-everything, but specifically including four-piston front calipers; two piston rear calipers; German-language on-board computer and most controls; USA-spec speedometer cluster showing 45,482 miles (please note that I have less than no idea of the actual miles on this car); four-speed ZF auto-trans, presumably the heavier ZF 4HP24 from a Euro-spec 745i; a differential that is physically much larger than the units in the other two E24; plus whatever normal options came on a Euro-spec 635 CSi of this vintage.REALOEM.COM shows this VIN to have been born with the standard NA 3.4l engine and a ZF 4HP22 auto transmission. Somewhere along the line, someone transplanted an M30B106 engine into this chassis, doing what appears to be quite a skilled installation using all the factory components. These include the turbo, intercooler, intake piping, exhaust, and so on. The only oddity under the hood is an aftermarket ignition system.
Please know this: by the time you have finished reading this listing and examining the photos, you will know everything that I know about this car. All three of the E24s that I bought had been sitting on asphalt here in Connecticut for a long but unknown period. I was told by the previous owner that all three cars were driven to their parking spaces under their own power and then left sitting. I have turned this one's engine over on the starter but have made no attempt to actually start it. That would entail more work than I have time for; if you're into this kind of thing, you know what's involved in doing such a restart properly.
I bought these three E24s thinking it would be cool to put a five-speed in my 1992 E32 735i. From that misplaced fantasy, I moved on to doing that plus rebuilding the turbo engine and enhancing it up to perhaps four hundred HP and putting it in the 735i. I just do not have the time for any projects and my wife has made it clear to me that the physical evidence of my delusions must go.
I am selling this car with a bill of sale only. Connecticut stupidly stopped issuing titles on cars older than twenty model years old, so that's the only option available.
So, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me through eBay. I do not use eBay a ton, but you will see that I have 100% feedback ratings. Within the last couple of years I have sold a Ducati, a BMW R1200RT, and a Volvo P1800es on eBay. All three were sight-unseen sales, and all three buyers were happy enough with the listings and the products that they left positive feedback. You are welcome and encouraged to come do an in-person inspection. Having so said, if you do an inspection after purchasing this vehicle, I will guarantee that it is exactly as represented. If you reasonably determine that it is not, I will refund your deposit on the spot. I make this offer on all items of significant cost that I sell and I have never had anyone ask for their deposit back. If you choose to have this car picked up and shipped to you, then that's a one-way trip with no possibility of a refund. I will gladly coordinate with your shipper, but the buyer will have to make all the arrangements and payments.
I ask that a $500.00 deposit be paid through eBay within twenty-four hours of the auction's end. The car must be picked up within ten days after the auction's end, but, if you need a little more time, I'll be happy to work with you. The balance can be paid by cash upon pick up or by bank to bank wire transfer if you are having it shipped. With all the good-looking fake bank and certified checks out there, these are the two means that I can work with.
Finally, please spare me the scams. If you are such a parasite that you have to make a living by stealing from other people, please just take a hike.
Thanks for your interest,
Drew
