1972 BMW CS 3.0 Automatic

Listed is a 1972 BMW 3.0 CS automatic. Here are the negatives first. There are some rust bubbles around the trunk lid, on the hood, and at base of the drivers side pillar (photos taken of all of these spots). The interior is decent and could be a driver as is, but the headliner sags, there are a few holes in drivers seat, and one of the rear chairs leather was removed. The cover will be included. It was removed to start reupholstery. The windows and sunroof motors work, but function intermittently, so they will probably need some TLC to get them working consistently. It appears that the passenger side door was damaged at some point and has significant body work done on it. However, I purchased a replacement door which is included in the sale. The engine runs, and has new carbs (old carbs are in the trunk) but there is a head gasket leak. The car hasn't been driven regularly since 2012. There is also a significant leak in the transmission. Once new carbs were installed (Jan 2019), the car was test driven around the neighborhood and it ran rough due to the head gasket leak. The transmission operated and shifted well. The car was repainted at some point, so although the color is original, the paint has been resprayed.
Now the positives: The car is an original california car and has no undercarriage rust or on the bottom of the sheet metal body. In my opinion, the car needs full restoration, but this is about as good as it gets for an easy restoration due to the very little rust. The engine and body are numbers matching. 123K miles are low for this engine block. I've owned the car for about a year with the intentions of restoring it, but just have too many other projects going on. I have a custom covercraft car cover which will also be included with the sale. The car has been garaged as long as I have owned it. The title is clear and I have the pink slip in hand.
