BMW E30 M3 w/ 2.3L S14

Price: US $39,500.00 Item location: Torrance, California, United States
Description:

1991 BMW M3

Selling my 1991 BMW M3 that is finished inDiamantschwarz(Diamond Black, 181) over gray leather. Custom BMW Motorsport stripes across its body, and custom motorsports stripes on the seats. I purchased the vehicle in 2013, and it has been garage kept in Southern California since my ownership. No rust from previous ownership either. Original 2.3-liter S14 inline-four with a 5-speed limited-slip diff and manual transmission which runs strong and smooth.

The vehicle has a clean Carfax report w/ no accidents or other damage (included). VIN tags are in tact and visible on the fenders, doors, hood, dash, and trunk lid.

Motorsport stripes are vinyl and were done professionally under prior ownership. When added, the car was clear coated and block sanded, so the stripes are smooth, there is no ridge to the touch when going from the paint to the stripe.

Other modifications include: Paintedintake plenum and valve cover, strut tower brace,Evo II front splitter, Turner performance chip, Borla stainless steel exhaust, Turner Motorsports center section, JB aluminum flywheel,H&R sport springs and Bilstein dampers, aftermarket E36 cross drilled rotors w/ e36 M3 Calipers painted gloss black, e36 M3 style mirrors.

18x8.5 and 18x9.5 BBS/ ASA wheelswith BMW center caps are powder coated with a graphite finish. Superficial curbage on the right rear (see pics). The front wheels are mounted with 215/35 Toyo Extensa HP tires and the rears wear 225/35 Yokohama S.drive rubber, which have less than 3k miles on them, but installed in January 2015 at 127k miles. A factory 15″ BBS basketweave spare wheel in the trunk.

The interior features gray leather upholstery with Motorsport striping on all four seats. Approximate 1" chip is on the driver's seat stripe (see pic). A brand new Viilante steering wheel with tri-color stitching, aftermarket bmw shift knob and suede boots for the shifter and parking brake with matching tri-color accents.3M crystalline window tint was recently applied with 70% shading on the windshield and 35% on the remaining glass. The air conditioning system does not blow ice cold but does function (still factory r12 system).

The odometer is almost 130k miles, and I have added less than 4,000 miles in my nearly 6 years of ownership. A paging Compustar alarm system has been installed, with automatic electric door locks. Stereo head unit is a Sony CD player with a USB input. Stock speakers and a Rockford Fosgate amplifier in the trunk.

Some of the maintenance I recall/ receipts includes:

  • New spark plugs
  • Aftermarket/ new catalytic converter
  • Tires have less than 3k miles
  • ECU was refurbished by ProgRama in Florida December of 2017
  • New fuel filter/lines and coolant expansion tank (spring 2015)
  • New spark plug wires and ignition coil (December 2017)
  • Brake fluid flush (February 2018)
  • Recent oil change (May 2018)

The exhaust system features a Turner Motorsports center section and a Borla stainless steel muffler. The aftermarket Cat is used for CA smog certifications. Up to buyer what they want to leave on. Turner center section sounds even better with the Borla exhaust, but the aftermarket Cat is lightweight, so upside with either setup you choose to use, but both come with sale.

I have service records from my ownership that come with the sale, and a bmw car cover.

Lots of Pro's for this car that is 28 years old. Only Con's that came to mind when listing:

AC doesn't blow ice cold but can be addressed if asking price is met or near.

Some minor stone chips in front splitter from weekend drives.

No spark plug tool in the trunk took kit.

Chip in the driver seat motorsport stripe.

SRS light for airbag warning is on in overhead cluster (common problem, but likely because this doesn't have the stock steering wheel which was airbag equipped in 1991).

I am an avid BMW enthusiast and long time CCA member. This car was displayed in 2015 by BMWCCA Los Angeles chapter as the only vehicle on display at the BMWCCA booth at Bimmerfest. This car runs smooth and strong, and is mechanically sound and great to drive, but please feel free to arrange a PPI at your expense, I will gladly try and accommodate. I will also accommodate for shipping at buyers expense, vehicle is approximately 15 minutes southwest of LAX.
