1981 BMW 733i Orig 5spd Getrag 265/6 w/ 3:45LSD- Running well- NO RESERVE!
1981 BMW 7-Series 733i
1981 BMW e23 (733i)- Shark Nose with a 5spd manual shift!!!!!
Alpineweiss with parchment leather interior.
Recently purchased this car as a parts car for my early e23, specifically the 5spd conversion and the LSD diff, but I've decided to stay with an automatic.
This is a 1 owner car, in California all of its life.
Runs good and could be the perfect car for someone to restore as it wouldn't take that much to bring back to a nice driver or... take the running gear and diff and convert your automatic car.
This is a great running/driving project or a great find for the LSD 3:45 differential and the complete Getrag 265/6 5spd to convert your existing automatic - This would include a complete swap, all parts necessary to do a 5spd conversion- these transmissions alone in this condition are fetching $1200.00+, here you'd get everything needed, pedal box/hydraulics/clutch/driveshaft in a running/driving car!...
204k miles on non-working odometer, but prior owner states only 5k miles since the gears went out.
Runs and drives very well, both city and highway cursing- Transmission shifts smoothly in all gears and there is no noise at idle or in gear- Doesn't pop out of gear and shifts into all 6 gears smoothly. Clutch has good grab and smooth engagement.

Pros:
RUST FREE!
Super straight body- only slight damage above passenger rear wheel (shown in images)
Some of the interior pieces are still very nice
Good glass
Sunroof works in both directions
Very good chrome trim
Good running M30B32- has minor coolant leak at back of head, I'm pretty sure it's from the cooling pipe hose at the back of the head.
3:45 LSD- It's quiet, no whine or strange noises.
Getrag 265/6 5spd transmission- in very good condition- no noises/bearings and synchros are quiet, goes into and stays in every gear-
Suspension feels good, no shimmy, no tramlining, still feels decent, not great, but decent- cruises great at 75+MPH
Cons:
Tires old/cracking but holding air- I drove it 60 miles to get it home but wouldn't reccomend putting many more miles on them.
Salvage title in 2000, not sure why but no real evidence of major damage.
Interior is rough, most of the major leather problems are only in/on the rear seat, leather is pretty rough-
Most of the rubber is dry
Dash is rough
Dirty carpet/s in spots
HVAC in default mode, only blowing through defrost- Blower motor makes noise only on higher speeds
Missing some small trim here and there and on front door handles
Only slight body damage above passenger rear wheel
Antenna inop
Some window switches inop
