1988 M5 - 1 of 1200 for the USA CARFAX Clean
I am selling this newly purchased 1988 M5 with 165XXX miles. I bought the car about 2 weeks ago and don't want to go through a complete restoration.
After looking at the amount of work to get the car to mint condition is something I am not interested in doing. If you need any additional pictures, videos, test drive, PPI, etc. please let me know and I will supply you the details.
The issues with the car are:
1) Rust - There is visible rust on the i) driver's side windshield ii) rust bubbles on sunroof iii) rust on the side skirts where there is chip resistant paint iv) there is rust under the car according to the previous owner iv) repaint of the car (previous owner - have not verified) v) body parts changed (previous owner - have not verified)
2) Engine seems fine - Starts with no issues and runs great driving it 3-5 times. I know again the previous owner did some service on it to get it "mechanically sound"
3) Suspension - It has Eibach lowering springs after reviewing service history - You may need bushings, etc.
4) Interior - The previous cleaned the interior before selling it to me - The driver's seat has a tear in it. As mentioned previously the interior needs to be redone if you are looking to have the car mint - the leather is still usable. I have pictures if you would like to see of all areas of the seats (Getting a quote for the interior)
