West Coast Classics are proud to present an absolutely exceptional example of this 1989 BMW 635CSi 2 Door Coupe; an obviously always garaged last year example of the iconic 6 series 3.4L 635CSi model a rare modern day collectible BMW in rare and most desirable all black color combination of black color paint with black leather interior and only 81K original miles and boasting the rare optional 5 speed manual transmission!The iconic 6 series BMW's classic elegant sport coupe was available either with the 4 speed automatic transmission or the ultra rare 5 speed manual transmission. From our research in 1989 only 61 (yes that's sixty-one!) five speed manual cars were built for the US market of which only 5 (yes five!) were Black on Black and this particular example also boasts an optional limited slip rear end/differential CD player with an 8 speaker premium sound system and the optional heated front seats! It sports a 208 horsepower six cylinder engine and anti-lock braking which provided impressive performance both then and to this day! The interior is a rich Nappa leather with rear seat air conditioning to surround its occupants in total luxury. This particular car has had only three meticulous owners since new all of whom kept and passed on their thick file of service records and history. Originally purchased in Boston MA on 6/29/1989 at the 'BMW Gallery' of Norwood MA where it was initially serviced. Sold to its second owner who lived in southern California in 1990 where it was then serviced at 'McKenna BMW' and 'Janaco BMW' on Firestone Blvd. It was purchased by only its third and also local southern California owner in 2008 with 71600 miles after having reportedly never spent a night outside or having seen rain and after receiving a comprehensive independent inspection at the renown 'BMS of Santa Ana' California with a compression test showing #1) 180 #2) 180 #3) 182 #4) 180 #5) 182 #6) 182. The car was purchased with all its original dealer manuals and dealer stamped service booklet and with service records showing primarily servicing only at BMW specialists since new confirming that at no time was any expense spared on this particular vehicles preventive maintenance. The oil had been changed every 2500 miles the radiator flushed every 2 years. The third owner also kept meticulous records of the cars service history from 2008 until present day. Sadly he passed away earlier this year and we purchased the car from his estate. Finished in the original and beautiful factory color combination of black exterior paint with original black leather interior with no signs of any accidents or damage and with a clean CARFAX report! A truly obviously always babied and pampered example if there ever was one! The paint is in absolutely beautiful condition and the black leather interior is also in as beautiful condition with virtually no signs of any wear! The rubber seals appear new and supple yet are all original. The engine still has the original Cosmoline on it. The tires are relatively new as are the Bilstein sport shocks and the car boasts its original forged 'BBS' high performance light alloy with BMW cross-spoke styling designer wheels. It has front and rear air conditioning a rear window sun-blind toolkit in the trunk and heated seats. It sports the leather glove box leather sports steering wheel and stick shift knob and leather headliner and has a perfect dashboard. The car drives exactly like such a low mileage and specialist well maintained model should and must be seen and driven to be truly appreciated! The 3.4 litre engine is extremely strong and powerful and still drives as it must have when it left the showroom floor over twenty years ago the transmission has a very smooth transmission shift through all 5 gears and the temperature always remains cool!
