Description:

1962 Austin

For your consideration is a genuine LHD Mk1 Austin Mini cooper in (converting it to RHD does not require dash cutting to the best of my knowledge) This car was built on November 1st 1962 (give or take a day).

It was then shipped to the dry climate state of California where it is believed to have stayed ever since and is accompanied by its original California black license plate.

The car left the factory as a 997cc cooper and in more recent times it received the more durable and powerful 'S' 1275cc engine 'S' badging to the rear and what I have been told are 'S' Vented wheels. I believe these modifications are very tasteful

The electrical system functions well .The Brakes function well; with disc brakes in the front and drums in the back.

The interior is quite stunning the headliner and carpet are very good it has a period looking steering wheel from England and also has a special works type gas pedal by Paddy Hopkirk ( the infamous mini rally driver)

This car is an older restoration and has got some issues:

- Trunk floor needs replacing (Common mini issue)

- Acute bubbling under the front headlights

- Wipers do not work

- Engine area could benefit from detailing.

- Chrome isn’t perfect small dents)

- Scuttle panel isn’t perfect but a magnet sticks to it all (possibly sloppy welding which was attempted to be corrected by using filler.)

I recently purchased this car off the last owner who owned it for nearly 20 years but am parting with it to fund a new catering business.
