1963 Austin Mini

This is a project car begun by my son and I in England in 2010. Our aim (85% complete) was to create a replica of a Mk1 Mini Cooper S using a 1963 Austin Seven. The car was shot-blasted and meticulously welded with new floor panels, hood, trunk and doors, then painted using two-pack, but in an original BMC color - Island Blue and Old English White. The engine was re-built to 1360cc with new twin SU's and re-built gearbox. New suspension, discs, brakes lines, fuel tank and pump, electronic ignition, aluminum radiator to OEM spec, new bright-work and tires. When we moved to California in 2016 the car suffered one or two scratches in the container but nothing serious. No rust, exceptional performance, reliability and handling. What is left to be done is a new headliner, new upholstery and door cards (original upholstery still intact), dash card, new carpet and retouching of the one or two bodywork blemishes. For reasons of ill-health we are not able to see the project through, but hope that an enthusiast will enjoy doing this. Investment in the car is three times the asking price. File available.
