1963 Austin MarkII Convertible

Of course this is a European Version that has some really rare features. A folding top started in 1967. It has roll up and down windows which is a later feature usually. These features are MK3 features that are common in the home market cars but came later for the USA market. It has a metal dash which makes this rare. Best of all it is right hand drive. This is such a fun and easy car to drive! It is so different that you won't want to stop driving it. It handles like a go cart. This Austin Healey has a good amount of power due to power to weight ratio. The transmission shifts so nice in all of the gears. It is a 4 speed forward with reverse. Driving the car down the road feels very nice. It is a very nice car to restore or just keep around to drive around for fun. The paint work has not been color sanded so some orange peal is evident. The interior is in good shape as you can see. The speedometer and odometer cable is in need of changing. True miles unknown. These tops are cheap and a new one is in order. The brakes are disk in the front and drum in the back. They work fine. The emergency brake, horn, lights, wipers all work. The heater is not hooked up but it has the option which is nice. This car came from a European Gentlemans collection of cars. In New York State the ownership is transfered by transferable registration. I have that in hand signed by the seller only ready to deliver to the new owner. I tell you from experience that having a right hand drive ( RHD) car really gets some fun attention. I have 2 so I am selling this one to share the joy!! Sprite No extra fees. Once in a lifetime find!! Make an offer! Built for the UK home market (VIN:HAN6123308, this attention grabbing right-hand drive Austin-Healey Sprite Mk II is ready to drive as is, or is a solid restoration candidate. This car is a blast to drive, fires right up, and runs, stops, and shifts as it should. There are a couple of spots on the body with minor bubbling, but nothing major. Undercarriage and trunk area are solid. Interior is very nice, new top is needed. This is a no reserve sale and the car can be previewed at anytime prior to the end of the auction. This great little driver is ready for its new owner! Hagerty is a great place to insure this car and it will cost very little per year with full coverage. Hagerty Oveview: "The Mk II Sprites initially ran with virtually the same 948-cc A-series OHV 4-cylinder engines as the Bugeye, but by October 1962, the longer stroke 1098-cc version was adopted, allowing a power increase from 46 bhp to 56 bhp. The car’s outright straight line speed was limited by this engine’s displacement and power, but its light weight and low center of gravity made it a terrific handler, and the Sprite earned a reputation on the rally circuit. Today, later Sprites are less expensive than Bugeye Sprites and still deliver much of the same driving experience, which makes them good bargains. Purists tend to prefer the Mk II Sprites (1962-1964), as they are relatively easy to own and work on, with parts being easily available and mechanicals being straightforward. Performance enhancements are popular with these cars as well, which makes them interesting choices for rallying".
