Final year of the Big Healey
1967 Austin Healey 3000 Mk III Phase 2 BJ8
Final year of the big Healey with wooden dash, roll up windows, raised rear end height.Ivory White/Red Interior, 3.0 L dual carb straight six, 3 synchro 4 speed manual with overdrive. Originally purchased by a Marine returning from Viet Nam, purchase/shipping documents from the UK. Built in Jun-Jul/66, delivered in Sep, titled as 67. 3 family owners in FL, NC and LA with documentation.Odometer shows 57,418 miles. Total miles unknown. Original purchase paperwork shows matching numbers engine, see Car No and Engine ID tag pictures. Engine rebuilt in 1975, although repainted a slightly off color shade of green. Transmission and shocks replaced and carbs rebuilt in 1985 at 50,000 miles. Driver and passenger footwells replaced and exterior repainted in 1990s. At some point new 60 spoke painted wire wheels were installed, still look like new.Current family has owned since 1998. Stored from 2000 until 2021 when owner died. Wife owns now. Recommissioned with new convertible top, gas tank, sending unit, boot floor panel, tires, rebuilt brakes, recored and repainted radiator (forgot to paint the fan guard red). A few things left to fix - choke cable, tachometer reads high. Runs and drives very well, smooth and quiet. transmission and overdrive no noise or grinding. Surprisingly rust free underneath considering the floors and boot floor have been replaced. A little surface rust showing where original undercoating has chipped off, but very solid. A few bubbles on the driver's door, look superficial, not rust through. Dog legs, lower panels all solid, pass the magnet test. Remarkably nice, straight body panels except a small ding on the driver's front fender just behine/below the headlight, no damage visible inside the fender. Interior looks to be original and could use a refurb - carpets faded, panels lumpy, seat seams coming loose. Back seating area and seats still look very nice, there are even seat belts back there for the little ones. Can be driven as is until you decide to redo the interior. Comes with tonneau cover, convertible top boot, original jack, original owner's manual. Ready to drive and enjoy. Clear title in owner's name, several receipts available. Located in Baton Rouge. I'm in the local British Car Club, selling this car for the family. I have dozens more pictures, send me an email, and I'll send them.
