1960 Austin Healey "Bugeye/Frogeye" Sprite, famous classic sports car NO RESERVE
1960 Austin Healey Sprite
Austin Healey Bugeye/Frogeye Sprite 1960, No reserve auction
Project, 1/3 restored 1960 Austin Healey bugeye Sprite (little Healey) This Sprite comes with a freshly rebuilt 1098cc high compression engine out of car. The original 948 cc was not restorable. We opted for the bigger 1098cc engine that is still appropriate the bugeye. This car has new floor pans and rockers on and has been started to be stripped for body work and paint, car is complete, but more new parts will be need to complete the restoration.
New parts that come with the car are:
· New professionally rebuilt 1098 engine (have the old 948cc for parts and carbs etc.)
· New carpet kit (red)
· New soft top (black)
· New rockers on
· New floor pans set
· Radiator fixed –tested
· New springs
· New badges and many other new parts from Moss motors, etc.
The car will need a full restoration finished that was stated a few years ago, what you see is what you get, bring a trailer. Have all the parts that were taken off and new parts too. front wind screen is original and good and have the side windows too. Average retail values for a 1960 Austin Healey Sprite are 26k and 48K high retail, so there is plenty of $ room for restoration. These models have gone way up in value and cars needing restoration are getting very hard to find….well lucky you, here is such a car with quite a bit done already and new bigger rebuilt engine and lots of new parts to boot. Why am I selling this very cool valuable car? Well, I am moving, and will also be selling my storage garage and I will not have the time to continue the restoration for at least 3-5 years. This is truly one of the easiest classic cars to restore, as there is hardly anything to them. Basically a boby shell and drive train... thats it.. oh and great fun to drive! I have sold many cars and have a 100% rating so bid with confidence. There is a whole big parts industry, clubs and blogs for these cars. Parts are plenty and cheap too. this car was a barn find I got several years ago and it sat for probably 20 plus years before that. Your winter project awaits with this no reserve auction with very low opening bid FYI - I have 7K into it, so someone will get a heck of a deal. Good luck in bidding and feel free to contact or arrange to see the car. Will help in coordinating shipping where I can. Only serious bidders please.

Follow up to a question: the vin # on the MI clear Title is actually the old 948 engine # that is (CU-H-22624) the new 1089 engine is engine # (10CC-DA-H 9041) I'll try to find the chassis # later today and post that. FYI- which many know, but for those that don't - the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust keeps/has all records of each car made in the UK and for a fee, you can get a certificate that has all the info on your British car. Like date of mfg, where it was sold, the numbers, all original trim and colors, and other Info. Nice to have especially if you want to do an original restoration.
