1969 AMC AMX

1969 AMX 390 Go-Package! 390 V-8 with 4 speed manual transmission, one owner, numbers matching, never wrecked, runs and drives great! *ORIGINAL OWNER*

This is a rare 1969 AMX that has a beautiful Sherwin Williams urethane base coat/clear coat that was painted a few years before stored in the garage for the past 15 years. The red with white stripes was the original factory color when I ordered directly from the factory in Wisconsin through the ARMY PX while serving in the Vietnam War. Original Magnum 500 wheels with brand new tires installed this month. All Lights and turn signals work as they should. The frame and suspension are in good condition, the fluids, brake pads and shoes have been replaced. It has front disk brakes upgrade that I special ordered from the factory, calipers were just sent off and reconditioned ($600) This is a clean AMX, that is ready to go and can be driven daily. This car sounds great, shines up very well and always gota lotof attention when I used to take it to car shows.

MOTOR:

This AMX was ordered direct from the factory with the 390 Engine, 4 Barrel Carburetor and 4 Speed Manual Transmission, I added a Hurst Shifter. The car starts and runs great! In 2004 I put a new timing chain in the car, had some machine work done on the heads and was replacing the gaskets when I got cancer and put the car in my garage to store it for when I felt better. In October 2019 I took the car to have the motor gone through since it had been stored for 15 years, the machine shop went through the whole motor to so it would be ready for daily driving ($4,500 invoice Dec. 11, 2019). We replaced the battery when the motor was done.

Work completed December 2019 – New gaskets, new radiator, water pump, battery, all fluids, hot tanked, honed cylinder walls, new cam bearings, freeze plugs, reconditioned piston rods, ground crank shaft, resurfaced cylinder heads, valve job, installed rod and main bearings, installed rear main seal, new valve seals.

INTERIOR:

The interior is good condition, in 2002 I had the interior door panels and seats covered with black leather and the leather is in good condition. I had started driving it and taking it to car shows so I installed seats from a 91 Thunderbird SC because they were comfortable and really made the interior look nice. The rest of the interior is ingood shape, the radio is an aftermarket CD player.

FRAME AND UNDERCARRIAGE:

The AMX undercarriage and frame is in good shape considering it has not been fully restored, the car spent most of its time in a garage after 1975.It has air shocks in the rear and gas shocks on the front and drives great.

EXTERIOR BODY / PAINT:

All of the body panels are original, the car has never been in an accident. The car has a beautiful base coat/clear that was painted in 2002 acouple years before stored in the garage for thepast 15 years. The original color when I ordered directly from the factory in Wisconsin from the Army PX while serving in the Vietnam War was red with white stripes as you see here, I used Mazda Miata red paint because I thought it was the best looking red color.Since all the panels are original when the car was painted, we used some body filler to take out dings and imperfections however after 18 years the car has some areas where I noticed willneed small repairs, the right rear quarter panel in the bottom shown in the next to last photo is the worst spot on the body where there is rust, the other imperfections are pretty minor. The paint is not perfect but it still looks great!Serious buyers can contact me and I will send some additional photographs. Corey 850-221-2907
